    Question CricketPROOF wifi tethering app/method?

Hey guys/gals, let me start off by saying that I searched for this and couldn't find an answer so if it's a repost maybe post the link for me

I flashed my Droid X2 some time ago and am loving it! I did NOT root it but will if I need to. About a month ago I installed the free app Foxfi to use the mobile hotspot feature of the phone. It has worked great until a week ago I was downloading something on my ipad using the X2 as my hotspot and then a cricket tab opens up saying that I can't do this (I'm using my iPad and wireless tethering right now and that I'd have to pay $10 a month to be able to tether to other devices.

So here's my question: Is there an app or method to wirelessly tether without Cricket knowing? I won't be downloading many things but may want to stream some videos or music, etc. I can root my phone if that would be necessary and then install a certain program or app.

I just don't want to pay the extra $10

    Thanks in advance!

There isn't one. The only way I can think of is to spoof the User Agent Profile in your browser to that of a smartphone. That way cricket thinks youre using the phone and not the pc/laptop. The websites will work but you will get the mobile version of them though......

Interesting. So they know I'm tethering because of the browser? How does one spoof the user agent profile of the browser?

I've been using the wifi tethering a LOT today with my iPad. Is it because Cricket thinks that my iPad is a phone? Come to think of it...the first and only time that I got the cricket message was when I was using my wife's laptop. So am I safe to use my iPad as is? and the Windows laptop with the extensions installed?

    user agent switching

You know i tried this. Cricket still shut me down. I do not think they detect you by your browser. I used firefox and user agent switcher. I think we need somebody smart to figure out how we can save that 10 dollars.

The only things I can tether to is my iPod and Google T.V. I think it's because they now have iPhones and they have Android. But tethering to my pc gives me that message to buy tethering.
