Welcome to Cricket Users!

  • Android 4.0.4 Build IMM76D - Ready to Flash

******THIS IS ONLY FOR THE NEXUS S 4G!******

    Android Police

Earlier this month, Engadget got word that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Nexus S should resume its rollout "in the coming weeks." This go around, the update is rumored to be rolling out to the Nexus S 4G on Sprint, as well; those rumors appear to be realized with today's leak obtained byBrief Mobile: a fully-flashable, seemingly final build of ICS for the NS4G.

The leak appears to be a full ICS ROM, including updated radios, boot.img, bootloader, recovery, system.img, and userdata.img.

In order to flash this file on your device, you'll need a couple of things:

Once you have all the required files downloaded, you're ready to flash.
    • Extract the release keys from above
    • Fire up Odin and turn off the NS4G
    • Enter "Download Mode" by holding Volume Up+Down and the power button
    • Connect the NS4G to your computer -- once Odin recognize the device, you should see "COM#" populate the first box.
    • Click on Bootloader and navigate to the folder where you extracted the release keys. Select "SPH-D720_IMM76D_KE1_BOOTLOAD_signed.tar"
    • Click PDA and select "SPH-D720_IMM76D_PDA_signed.tar"
    • Click Phone and select "SPH-D720_IMM76D_LC1_Modem_signed.tar"
    • Click Start
    • Wait for Odin to do its thing

After it's finished, the device should reboot, and you're done. Congrats, you're now running Android 4.0.4!

It will update... You may need to reprogram back to cricket. This being an "official" rom it will allow the phone to go into diag mode to program... Flashing the phone will be dependent on the ROM and its ability to allow diag mod.

Hi can this flash to ICS be performed if the device is rooted? Should I enable disable anything like boot unlocker or what is it called? I'm pretty unskilled at this stuff, I used the one click root tool to root and install CWM touch screen recovery.

I've got notifications telling me they are trying to install the ICS update on my phone and I just wish I could feel excited about getting it so soon but I just got this flashed to cricket and I'm worried about complications. I don't even know what is involved in the above reference to "reprogram back to cricket"

      Any tips or info? Thanks

Well trying the update didn't hurt the phone, but it didn't do anything either Looks like I'd either have to unroot (wipe data) and wait for OTA, or manually update (wipe data) and still not sure if I can while its rooted.
