  • Cricket Moto X - Coming soon?

So you might have seen a lot of articles pop up in the last few hours talking about the Motorola Moto X coming to Cricket Wireless. This is based on a leaked picture of dummy phones which was passed on to the site phandroid.com.

Could this be some evil prank done to get attention? Sure, it definitely can be. Would I personally be glad to see this device come to Cricket? Sure. Cricket has not had a good cell phone from Motorola for as long as I can remember. Have they ever had a Motorola phone in general? While chiming in that Cricket enthusiasts and dealers, please feel free to leak pictures to me by sending them to webmaster at cricketusers.com .

The Moto X doesn't have the highest resolution or fastest processor around. The Galaxy S4 will still probably rule specification wise for Cricket. The graphics processor or GPU is the Adreno 320 which is shared amongst some of the most popular and power devices on the market (S4, HTC One, Optimus G Pro). The Moto X has a Motorola X8 processor instead of a Snapdragon processor like those 3 devices I just mentioned. Expect it to be a solid performer with a lot of pure Android goodness.

It should ship with 4.2.2, be able to capture video at 1080 x 1920 (60fps), house a 2MP front facing camera, sport a 10MP rear facing camera, contain a 2200mAh battery, and more.

The screen is an AMOLED 4.7" 760 x 1280 which yields a pixel density of 316ppi. This is lower than the S4/One/G Pro. All of those have a 1920 x1080 screen which woudl make the G Pro the lowest density of the bunch @ 400ppi.

Well a new phone IS coming soon to cricket...they took off the Alcetel Authority from the website, usually when one phone disappears a new one gets put up within a few weeks...maybe this one will be a little more affordable?

HTC One is nice but I think we're passed having a chance at that.

Someone said it might be the DVX and not the Moto X. Can any dealer state what model number was added to the system?

      May be the DVX
Motorola DVX, the low cost Moto X, visits FCC, reportedly costs $200

i think that cricket needs to get the best phones but i also think that they need to spread there 4g lte coverage so that when you get the phone instead of seeing 3g you are seeing 4g LTE but that would be good cause they dont have most of there phones anymore online they also need to lower the prices a lil bit instead of like 600 for a phone like 400 or even 300 people will buy them and they would have more customers then they have now. cause they would be affordable.

      Thanks Short6in.

Subsidizing phones isn't a very good financial move for them. They're already taking a hit on most of their phones @ the prices they've been publishing lately. A good example is the Admire 2.

They're never going to lower their prices on the hottest devices to match something you'd get on contract from another provider. What would keep a person from getting the phone and changing their carrier immediately? What would keep foreign buyers from obtaining the device and shipping it to Europe if it is GSM capable?

You either get a contract and pay for the phone with that contract or you get a non contract phone at a high price. The Note 3 retail on AT&T is over 700 dollars! It takes a 2 year contract to get it down to 300.

Funny what all has changed since this was originally posted.

Please feel free to talk about unlocked Moto X's on Cricket.
