I got mine on launch day. I love it. Seems pretty well built has a decent camera and the 2GB of ram on it really makes it run really smoothly. My only complaint is i wish it had a snapdragon 600 instead of a 400.

I don't like the ringtones,...hope I can get different ones,...Notification tones are low at max volume,...so far other than that,..I really like this phone.

Have you tried using an app called zedge? They have a bunh of free ringtones and even notification tones. Should be able to find something on there you prefer over what the phone has. And to the member who asked if it can be rooted or not i have no Idea as i do not ever root any android phone I have ever had. I prefer to keep it the way it comes. I know i am pretty lame like that. But i am happy with the phone still. I love the size and i love the speed it has. By far cricket's best and most affordable phone.

Bought one for my wife, the only issue is ringers/notifications/alarms are all quite weak. Even music isn't as loud as on her moto g (2nd gen). But performance wise it handles very well. I played injustice on it just to test it out and it was beautiful.

As far as root, I will be looking into it since I might buy one myself, and I need to tether

NOTE: as of this posting, I didn't even see a way to root the original grand max

Hey Snake,..thanks for the Zedge app,..works great,...The volume on the phone is an issue,..still trying to make it work correctly,..my Dolby app worked fine which made my music louder is now not working after I updated it. Got an armor cover for it yesterday along with a Bluetooth headset.

I played with this phone some at the Cricket store a couple weeks ago when setting up a bridge pay. I liked what I saw and the price tag.
Right now I have the Lumia 1320...good phone w/ terrible apps. I was happy with it at first but the whole apps thing is grating on me...lack of them and no good versions of the apps I had on my S4 (Cricket CDMA). ...and now that my bank has dropped all support for WinPhone (including their mobile website) I am serious about switching back to Android.

I still have my S4 and carry it with me for Out of Milk (shopping list), YNAB (budget, syncs with desktop version via DropBox), and a few games (Candy Crush and others) while waiting in long lines. I do this b/c the apps mentioned above do not exist on WinPhone and the alternates are terrible. ...so when I go out running errands I'm actually carrying 3 devices...my Lumia 1320 for calls, my S4 for apps, and my iPod for music (USB plug into my car stereo). I want to only carry ONE device, not 3. ...well I might continue to carry the iPod b/c I can control it via the car stereo remote.

After looking at the ZTE phone in the store, watching the video posted above, and comments from you guys...when I can afford to do so I'll get this phone. I had a ZTE phone before...the Engage, nice phone. The other phone I was considering is the S5. ..but for that one I would have to finance it (can't afford $600 out of pocket) and then there's the fact that I can't really justify the $600 price tag for the way I use the phone....calls to my "boss" (I'm self employed & "boss" is in another state), apps + games, music, YouTube, and camera.

I enjoyed toying around with my wife's grand max+ so much, I had to get my own. So far, I am still impressed. My friend's wife has a note 3 and was surprised that this phone not only could keep up with hers, but after adding tiny apps, multitasking was just as easy. Stylus response is almost as good, and once I connect to my keyboard, I have a nice sized screen for document editing. Oh, and as for gaming, I have been playing wwe:immortals and injustice on it and response is great (not to mention a much better viewing screen). So for 200, I'd say well worth it

Curious as to if anyone knows a trick/way to unbrick one of these phones, similar to RUU for HTC or ODIN for Samsing.

Don't know, but I'm checking a rumor about possible root using srsroot. https://mobile.twitter.com/srsroot/s...08503744180224

If I can't get to it first, maybe someone else can setup a nandroid?

OK, tried srsroot. Website and twitter claimed it could root z987, but after 5 tries, it was still a failure.

I have my zte grand. I love it. Yeah the volume is kinda like for such a big phone. But the real problem I'm having is I can't seem to transfer my videos or pictures to my SD card. I have a 32 GB card, but it uses ask the phones memory.. HELP...

I still have my ZTE Grand X Max + and have enjoyed using it,..but now I lost my voice mail message notification on the top of the screen when some leaves a voice message. I had 7 missed called messages when I dialed my voice mail #,...I was surprised and didn't even know a message was left. I know it worked when I got the phone. Any ideas maybe a box not checked.
