Same here...(better than the Optimus Requard!)...For $100 OTD customers will be really happy with this phone. LG is a regognized brand which goes far for sales when it comes to people having to choose from either the Overture (ZTE ehhh) and Lumia (Windows Phone ehhh) for $100.

Screen quality is on the less side as when you look close it's more pixelated. It's almost identical to my 5.5" LG G Pro on AT&T I just had a few months back. I love the LED Home button status light...looks so cool at night!!

      CNET:

Prepaid carrier Cricket Wireless announced today that it will be offering the LG Optimus L70 beginning on Friday, June 6. Priced at $99.99 without a contract, the device will be sold for $49.99 at launch for a limited time, after users send in a mail-in-rebate.

Already available for MetroPCS, the L70 is a midrange handset that runs Android 4.4 KitKat. It includes signature LG software tools such as Qslide, a multitasking app feature, and KnockCode, which enables users to unlock their phones using a customizable tapping code.

The device is equipped with a 4.5-inch IPS display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and a removable 2,100mAh battery that has a reported talk time of up to 15 hours.

As for its camera chops, it has a 5-megapixel camera and a front-facing VGA shooter. Additional features include 4GB of internal memory, up to 32GB of external memory, and 1GB of RAM.

      Phone Dog:

It’s now been a couple of weeks since AT&T launched the new Cricket Wireless, and the prepaid provider has decided to celebrate by launching a new Android smartphone.

Cricket will begin selling the LG Optimus L70 this Friday, June 6, at a price of $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. The L70 includes many of LG’s notable software additions, including the KnockCode security feature and the QuickMemo note-taking add-on, as well as a notification LED surrounding its home button.

When it comes to straight-up specs, the Optimus L70 is packing a 4.5-inch 800x480 display and VGA camera on its face, as well as a 5-megapixel shooter on its backside. Crammed into the L70’s 9.4mm-thick frame is a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8210 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a microSD card slot, WCDMA 850/1900/2100MHz connectivity and a 2100mAh battery that’s powering the whole package.

The Optimus L70 isn’t the most high-end Android phone in Cricket’s lineup, but it does look like a respectable option for folks that want a new smartphone on the cheap. Plus, it comes preloaded with Android 4.4, which is always great to see.

Motorola proved that 1 gig of ram is plenty to handle the needs of most apps with their moto g. its the excess crapware that most manufacturers add that makes it necessary to have so much ram.

I'm considering getting this phone, switching from a grandfathered Virgin Mobile plan. Has anyone rooted the Cricket version of the L70 yet? Not sure I want a phone that can't be rooted.

I am a new Cricket user. So far I think the service in my rural area is awesome. Signal every where I go and plenty of 4g, even though I use very little data.
I am hoping someone can point me as to who to contact to see about getting the FM radio unlocked.
It is a real shame that Cricket left such a nice feature of the phone locked. I know it physically has the FM chip in it.
It takes more than just installing the FM radio APK.
      Any ideas?

I just signed up for Cricket and got this phone. I'm wondering, does this phone have NFC? I've never had an NFC-enabled phone before and would love to try out Google Wallet. I searched all over Google but could not find an answer to this. Thanks!
