  • Cricket Wireless Samsung Galaxy S3 4G LTE Root and Recovery (CWM)



    DISCLAIMER

    At this point, this is not a tested method. The decision that this tutorial *SHOULD* root the Cricket Wireless Samsung Galaxy S3 is based on the fact that it works on many other variants TO INCLUDE the US Cellular version which SHARES the SAME model number as the Cricket Wireless version.

    No one here is responsible for your actions. Cricket Wireless is NOT responsible for your attempt to root your device. You are solely responsible.

    Possible side effects are not being able to use your device because it has been bricked. Hopefully someone will be able to obtain the full ODIN for the device.

    Instructions for CWM recovery to enable rooting and customization of all SGS3 LTE variants. This is confirmed to work great on Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile and Rogers variants.

    • version 4: Excludes /data/media from backups.

    Simply flash this.zip in CWM and your phone is rooted! This is the easiest method to root the stock Samsung ROM.
    • Updated: 7/3/2012
    • version 5: Now automatically cleans out old root files to prevent conflicts. This should fix failure to root.
    • version 4: Removes /system/etc/install-recovery.sh and /system/recovery-from-boot.p left by OTA updates in order to preserve stock recovery. Read the CWM instructions carefully!

      Will the stock restore still work properly even though they are intended for Sprint?

      Yes I am wondering the same thing about the stock recovery?? Im positive that it would work or he probably wouldnt of added the link...just my thoughts...havent tried it yet, though...
