  • CRICKET WIRELESS: Data limits increased for Android users? (2.5GB + $10 per extra GB @ Full Speed)

A reliable source has reported that Cricket is currently making changes to their system to allow for new plan changes. Mainly this will allow Android users to have 2.5GB of data at full speed like iPhone users. In addition to this there appears to be two ways of getting more data at full speed.

    1. $1/50MB as long as you have funds in your Flex Bucket.
    2. Prepay $10 per GB. Max of 6GB additional full speed data. This would bring your total to 7GB per month.

What do you think? Please feel free to comment.

Seems really fair to me. 1GB is a drop in the bucket these days, and it is nice to see Cricket recognizing that. I would also point out that the 2.5GB upgrade is at NO EXTRA CHARGE, something Cricket has not been well known for. Good move on their part.

I'm really upset with this buisness model of capping data and charging for more. If this was my only means of internet access, I would be severly intrested in learning how to bypass this security. But as it stands right now, I only use it to check my e-mail when I'm not home and to google stuff during drunken conversations.

I called 611 because I am using my phone now for Internet and they said I have the 2.5 GB. I will call the store to see about when the extra G will be available. Kinda nice to have the cushion at least until I find out how much use I will average per month. I did put an app on my phone to monitor data usage and I don't really plan on much movies and junk through my phone, since my laptop is connected to the TV and that is on a LAN connection I have free here. Although it would be cool to be able to pull up a YouTube videos on the tablet with out having to worry about it.

Is there any news on when we might see this change take place. I would also like to say, I had cricket when they first came here to Cincinnati. It still amazes me how far they have come. I mean they were the first to bring unlimited talk & text for unheard of prices. However there service was God awful. look at what good old cricket has become, and with their continuing improvement, such as this data increase their the best in the business for giving their customers what they want.

If you want more data at high speed, you can add 1 GB for $10.00 a month up to 6 times....
