Let's start speaking specifically of what techniques were used. Did you try some stuff that was meant for like the S4 for example?

Just tried some root methods I found on xda general section since they don't have anything for the admire 2.

The Galaxy Admire 2 seems to have the same specs as the Galaxy S3 Mini unless I'm reading bad info. I'm going to try to root the Admire 2 using Galaxy S3 Mini method.

EDIT: Nevermind, its the same as the Galaxy Axiom for U.S. Cellular

It happened with me in the beginning too. Make sure the drivers are installed and USB debugging is enabled. If you have to, disconnect the USB and plug it back in right before hitting the button. Restart the device if needed and then try rebooting your computer if that doesn't work.

Check device manager to see if you have the device connected. Should look like this:

Not sure what I'm doing wrong I keep getting Device not found with cydia impactor, tried rebooting pc & phone, developer options is on and usb debugging enabled.

I notice I don't have the "ADB Interface" section in my device manager and I've reinstalled the Samsung usb driver twice now (Win 7 64).

The phone shows up under Portable Devices in device manager?

Try using a different USB port. Let me know how that goes.

Tried front & back usb ports with the same results but I think it's all sorted out now.

I uninstalled the S4 usb driver and installed the driver from Samsung Axiom support page: Support - US Cellular SCH-R830 | Samsung Cell Phones (click See all downloads).

The only strange thing is the SuperSU icon wasn't anywhere in the app drawer after cydia impactor finished doing its thing.

I then downloaded SuperSU from the playstore and it installed without any problems.

According to Titanium backup I have root access at least.
