  • Updated Muve Music 4.0 on Admire II

If you've already received your Samsung Galaxy Admire 2, you might notice that it is on version 3.5.2 of Muve Music and not 4.0+. The solution to upgrade is easy. Visit the Google Play Store and search for Muve or view "my apps". Hit the upgrade button and let it do its thing.

My playlists appeared and 271 songs appeared, but none would play. I wanted to see if my music downloaded to the phone, or to the SD card using the Muve Music 3 app. I removed MM4, downgrading back to the stock app. I then removed the music and reinstalled MM4, and hit the sync button. All music is gone, and apparently a few Genre (Christian/Gospel>Southern Gospel) were removed causing the MM4 being confused. I did lose a few old albums, and still this is better than paying for Music. Here is hoping the buyout will not remove Muve Music.

Some songs will allow me to set ringtones, and some will not. Have you tried with a different song?
(No, I do not know why some songs will not allow ringtones.)

FWIW, as expected kies will not sync Muve Music. There is a Ringtone folder that is Read/Write and may allow adding ringtones. I have some ringtone files on my EXT SD card already.

sorry guys, muve 4.0 will not have ringback tones until they update it again. ringbacks are broke. set all your ringbacks off before you update or change devices or they will be stuck forever until it's fixed on muve 4.0.

totally forgot about this we were told during training, also i'm having issues getting muve working on the galaxy discover at the moment. i think something brokeded.

I tried to locate the new Muve Music apk after upgrading, but the only one I could find under the system/app is the 3.5.2 apk. We should post up 4.0.

Not sure why some people are getting compatibility issues with the Admire 2.

I have ringtones appearing after I downloaded all my music again. I had removed all music as my queue was acting weird. It works better now.
Open the sidebar> My Music> Ringtones
I was able to create a custom ringtone and it shows which songs are available in the sidebar. I am seeing almost every song available for a ringtone even the older songs I found.

For the music missing the Genre removed (Southern Gospel), I can click the album icon from a song, select More from this artist and still download albums.

That is NOT working on mine. Just received it via web purchase. It won't even start because it says the sdcard isn't formatted properly.
From google play, it says I have NO valid devices to install it to. :-/

A small update. Apparently it takes some time for a cricket phone to actually show up AS a cricket phone to the app in the play store. Tried again just for grins a little while ago, and the play store detected and approved the device, and the application updated normally....and now works aces without doing anything manually. While I probably will unlock the phone for root access....I'm completely happy with the performance of this lil' dude...and with muve, I'm REALLY happy with it.

This cleared up my Queue issues too with Ringtones. Uninstall the app, and reinstall the update then re-sync your music. All the songs that gave me trouble making ringtones are now fixed and i can freely use them.

      Thanks for the idea....

I now have weird things with many songs showing downloaded, when they do not exist. Many other songs ARE downloaded, but when added to queue they do not play. I removed the artist, album and song entries for every questionable song. I found some were in playlists and those I deleted also. I turn my phone off daily per our company rules (either turn it off or leave in 100+ locked car) and after a few days, Muve seems to think I enjoy [EXPLICIT] lyrics. I think maybe the system assigns Muve per phone number and the last person "enjoyed" this Genre. To each their own.

I uninstalled the app, Since I am rooted, found the directory with the music, deleted all files in that Directory. I downloaded all music again and some changed Playlists are recreated, but also some of the [EXPLICIT] songs are back. I am hoping an update will solve this, and have wondered if the programs are that hard to program, since this is android/Linux based.

**this post is not anyway meant to encourage the attempt to bypass DRM within Muve Music. That is illegal!!**

i have noticed songs i never downloaded on my phone. and i've had this number since before muve music. . . but yes muve does keep a profile by phone number. my advice is to use the muve app itself to delete everything. . keep deleting until nothing comes back. . then start over
