4G on Cricket's Website
Cricket mentioned 4G on their website:
"What is 4G LTE?"
"4G LTE is the latest cell phone network technology available, and Cricket’s bringing it to you! Download apps, games, photos and more at amazing speeds. Cricket’s 4G LTE coverage is available in select areas, with more coming soon! You need a 4G Cricket phone to take advantage of all that 4G LTE coverage has to offer. Get a new 4G Cricket phone at a Cricket store near you.

Thanks Jordan Diaz for letting us know!
Keep in mind Tuscon, Arizona is going to be Cricket's first 4G market. Cricket should also have 4G nationwide through Lightsquared.

I'm wondering so many things about this..
Is it just going to be LTE or is it going to be LTE-Advanced?
Is Cricket eventually going to move over to VoLTE? I'm thinking they will.
LTE has better capacity than 3G right? So, I'm hoping that means higher data caps and faster throttling.
I'm sure most of my questions will be answered soon.

I'll be glad when Cricket's 4G comes to Cincinnati, OH. What will happen with all the phones that are currently 3G for Cricket now?

Well the point is they can't call it anything else because it's LTE. They can't call it WiMax cause it's LTE. They can't call it 1xRTT cause it's LTE. I can't call the color pink, purple, because it's pink.
So um no that!

Yeah, if it's LTE, I think it should be alright to advertise as LTE, even if it is slow. If they're still using the LTE technology, it's still LTE, regardless of speed. Maybe they shouldn't say it's at 4G speeds, if it's really at 3G speeds though.
Not too long ago LTE wasn't considered 4G, but LTE-Advanced was. I'm not sure if they changed that or not.
Also, I thought HSPA and HSPA+ wasn't 4G, but T-Mobile was advertising it like it is 4G. Maybe they changed it. I think I should go read up on the 4G standards again..
Regardless of what is "technically" 4G, and what isn't, there will still be arguments, just like there is with the term "unlimited". It will be a never-ending discussion.

well on fedral terms there is no true 4g yet but the speeds of wimax and LTE are faster than 3g thats why the phone companies call it 4g and yes HSPA+ is T-Mobiles 4g networks

4G like 3G before it is simply a term coined by some marketing guy as a way to make new technology more palatable for the general public.
