does not work on my ascend 2 m865. cant even get into recovery. hold vol + and power at same time all i get is the huawei emblem and thats where is stays. then have to pull battery and thats it.... btw this is the 2nd phone to do this.

Is there any paid applications that can WIFI tethering my Ascend 2 m865. I have version 2.3.3.

Im desperate.....

I posted on how to root this device, yes there is paid tethering apps but why pay for something that's free? I would post it but I'm not near a pc.

I'm sure someone will chime in and post it ^^ also try Google "android WiFi tether Google" should be the first link.

If you don't want to root your phone (which voids your warranty), you can't get WiFi tethering. Is that correct, oriax123?

There is always wired tethering. You can try PDANet.

Keep in mind, soon you're not going to be able to tether without paying an additional $10 per month. That is if Cricket can actually block people..

Correct. Pdanet is free to use but will block some site as a restriction. Although pdanet is only usb and.bluetooth, its still an option. You can root your phone(will void warranty) unless you restore back to stock firmware.

Firmware update step 1/2
Unpacking
Update failed..

I followed this steps:
1 - I save the .rar file into the Micro SD
2- Turn OFF the phone.
3 - Press UP + DOWN + POWER
4 - I got the message

I did some thing wrong?

As I repeat, Im new in androids...

lol Unzip the .rar file with winrar. After that copy the dload folder to the root of your sdcard. if there isnt a dload folder then create one. It should have a "update.app" file inside dload folder.

then:

Press UP + DOWN + POWER

Inside of the .rar file is not there any folder, just "ascend II root.msi".

In my M SD card it contains a folder named download not a dload - are those the same?

1.Install the "Ascend II root" on your computer.

2.Open program and click on "Download"
(this will download the downgrade)

3.Once its downloaded,

Unzip the .rar file with winrar.

"Firmware Update Step 1/2 Unpacking ! Update Failed" Whaaa? I'm confused because this is the same zip file I used for this exact same phone a week ago. I had to factory reset to get 3G data back... annoyed. Ideas?
