Thread: Phone randomly went tits up

This is the craziest thing I have ever seen. I was an early adopter and got the merc when it first came out. Use it everyday with really know issues at all. Out of no where for some random reason my Merc started to just go hay wire last night (maybe related to an auto update it downloaded??) as of now everything force closes I get the XXXX has stopped unexpectedly error constantly on anything I try to run and sometimes the phone even goes into a boot loop. I have tried to do a factory reset but it dont take! I have tried every method including from the phone itself Setting > Privacy > Factory reset to doing the on boot Volume UP + Home + Power and doing the reset/wipe that way. Nothing works. And as of right now my phone is about to go through the frickin window! This is insane!

That's a good idea but I originally bought mine off a guy from Craigslist I am wondering if they will still cover it.

Aww damn well that sucks.... I flashed an old evo 3d so I am using that now.... I guess I will just keep checking this forum and see if any custom roms come out or that ICS update comes out and possibly try anf flash that to get a fix. Even if I could get the stock rom to flash I think that might be able to fix it as well....

i suggest still taking it to corp, they can at least troubleshoot it for you or perform a re-flash. tell them you got it off a friend, only if they ask.

Damnit.. Mines started doing the same thing.. I did buy it from the store tho so.... Just a wasted afternoon driving an hour to the store... meh..

Have you tried installing CWM and flashing a custom ROM? Revokster can be found here in the forums and it is ridiculously stable. Just a thought.
