how to unlock samsung galaxy s3

i need some help please. I found a tmobile galaxy s3 and did a factory reset so that I could use it. I also have tmobile and found out that the previous owner had his insurance lock it from the tmobile network. Ive tried all ways to unlock this phone and because my sim is tmobile as well the network lock screen doesnt come up for me to input the unlock code. I've tried many different ways to try and unlock it, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how to get to the network unlock screen without using a sim card. entering *7465625*638*# hasn't worked either. HELP ME PLEASE

Return the phone. How would you like it if you lost a 500$ phone with all your personal information and some guy found it and is now trying to use the phone you bought with pics of your family and stuff.
Well I guess a factory reset will also wipe the SD card, (I learned the hard way).

    - also, it's a T-Mobile phone. We really can't do much since its networked locked and not cricket

Actually that information is incorrect, as the Galaxy S3 is a CDMA/GSM/LTE phone, also known as a world phone, as long as it is unlocked and the carrier you want to activate it on has no rules against it, this phone can be activated and used on any carrier in the world. This is universal for this model, regardless of if the phone is branded as AT&T, Cricket, Verizon, T-Mobile, or whatever.

Tell that to my Sprint Galaxy S3, I think it will have a solid reason why not to listen, it does not have a sim slot.

Simple, i work for Sprint in advanced tech.

If your S3 has no sim card slot, then it is an EARLY S3.

You being a sprint tech, can you provide a link to a forum where sprint S3 people are talking about this working?

    lol to sprint tech!
Sprint version dose have sim it, as for LTE it is require.
But sprint don't use removable sim, to stop unlocking they use embedded sim, which is only used for LTE signals.
Where as Verizon use removable sim for LTE. and that's why Verizon s3 and s4 are usable on gsm outside USA.
But GSM versions cannot be used on cdma due to radio issue. There are 3 versions of s3.
    1) cdma USA ( few are world phones)
    2) gsm USA
    3) GSM world (non USA)
