ZTE Score Root and ADB
This will be a placeholder for discussion about root and getting ADB to work on this device.
Apparently it doesn't function normally and enabling USB debugging doesn't get a new device to pop up (at least not on the machine we have access to right now). If anyone has some insight, please post.
UPDATE (Post 10):

I'm not too worried about bricking the thing. I don't think Gingerbreak will work, but I wonder if the Ascend 2 update.zip contains anything specific to that device or if it's for a aosp like Gingerbread install.
Anyways I had a normal USB cable, but I might need to try on a different computer (which I won't have till after Friday).

SuperOneClick uses Gingerbreak or psneuter to root. I'm going to guess no, but I don't think it would hurt to try.

I am interested in 'Rooting' my ZTE Score also. I read on another form about a file called 'upd_1.zip' that you download and copy to the root directory on your flash drive and do a system update using the file. Think this will work ?

Well I've tried Super One Click, z4root, GingerBreak, and AnDroot. Anyone else have any suggestions? Also is the ZTE Score a re-branding of another phone aka. Samsung Vitality/Admire

I figured out how to root the ZTE Score here is how:
Step 1: Install ZTE Score drivers on your computer so that One Click Perm Root can detect your ZTE Score properly.
Step 2: Connect your device to your computer through USB.
Step 3: Enable USB Debugging on your ZTE Score from Settings > Applications > Development.
Step 4: Extract Zerg_Root_OneClick.zip (which you downloaded before Step 1) to C:\ and launch ZergRushTempRoot.bat
Step 5: Your ZTE Score will now be rooted. The process will take up to 3 minutes.
Step 6: Reboot your device.
