Hi thanks for this. I'm pretty new at this, so... The guy at the store set it up when I bought it, so I wonder if I need the 3 numbers that the quick-start guides says I need, (MDN, MIN, CDMA system ID) which I don't have. I've looked in the phone and made a note of: THe phone number (MDN?) THe MIN and not sure where the CDMA sytem ID can be found, looked here:
Cricket SIDs by market
just in case, I made a note of most of the other numbers in that section of the phone. Here goes nothing!
edit: well, factory reset appears to retain some things. Like those numbers... So my phone number and service is still maintained without further set-up. How are my photos on here?

you don't need to worry about min mid etc, just dial *228 and let your phone go through the automated programming process. your phone will receive all that information during the 'over the air programming process'. factory default reset only resets the information on the phone itself and will not change your services in any way. that also means it won't change your sd card where the phone stores all the pictures automatically

doing a factory reset is real simple. press both vol down + camera, while holding both down press the power button until your phone vibrates. and do not let off vol down or camera buttons, you can let off power though, after a minute or so you should see an android with an exclamation mark on your screen. press the menu key on the front of your phone. use vol up and down to scroll menu items and camera button to select, scroll down to factory reset, and select it with camera button. wait til it's done and select reboot now or whatever it is. if your phone does not reboot pull your battery and put it back in and press power button. remember it will take longer then normal since it has to rebuild dalvik and set everything up again. once your phone boots it's should work perfectly but in case it doesn't try dialing *228. this is all you gotta do to reset yer phone. I've done it 100 times and it works every time.
