Did I get a dud Score or...?

SO, I picked up a Score from Best Buy whilst I was at the mall (some hour+ drive away). Girl at the BB Mobile counter told me she liked my thinking picking up a $30 Score "just to screw with Android a bit, after all, it's only $30".

... I think the battery might be, well, dead. I can't start the phone unless it's on USB power - removing power at any point causes the phone to die.

If I plug in the phone to my laptop with the battery installed, the phone won't boot up. When it's removed the phone will boot without a problem. Inserting the battery after that just yields "Charging (99%)".

Did I get a dud phone or just a dud battery? What are my options? I don't feel like driving an hour back to the nearest Best Buy.

Your best choice of action is to drive back to best buy to get the battery. I seriously doubt you'll get anywhere with customer service, but you can try.

Just did a voltmeter check. Battery has 3.62V charge. Don't think the battery is dead. I suspect the phone's charging system might be borked.
