I was forced into an awkward situation yesterday and had to have my Score replaced since the one I had the USB port was damaged and so it wasn't taking a charge. It was kind of exciting having a new Score but at the same time I wanted to make sure it got updated, rooted, backed up, and had a working ROM on it again. Luckily Stedman made sure it all went very smoothly for me and he already knows how much I appreciate all his help. But just thought I would share that here and encourage everyone to read his posts on here and take heed. I can't over emphasize how important doing backups and doing everthing in an orderly fashion pays off and saves you a lot of grief and headaches. I've been very fortunate to have happened upon this website when I got my first score and hated all the Cricket and Muve crap on it and so now I cant even imagine trying to live with a stock Score lol

Thanks again Stedman420 and keep up the good work. You are greatly appreciated around here!!

i agree stedman does an awesome job. he managed to find a way to get our old versions up to date without taking them in when they fail the ota update. i've got a present lined up to help him and to say ty for all he has done. and i know he appreciates it so. anyway. hopefully soon on an updated rom so i can get to themeing it and start updateing my roms

I find this post very informative. I have been using your custom roms with ease for awhile have rooted and used roms on my zte score and huawei ascend 2. I noticed the problem with the zte score recently when changing roms. I changed still to the Xperia rom after having a few issues with it wanting to keep restarting. I installed back ups etc on sd card after I took out battery put recovery image on popped it back in and that seemed to fix the issues I was having. I started the phone up went into cwm and installed Xperia. No problems at all. Also didn't know it was possible but found out you can have two roms installed at once and go back and forth between them and you probably already knew that. I'll try and post on here more if I find anything out. I'm a noobie I feel even though I've been rooting cell phones and installing roms for around 6 months but if I come across anything why not share it as it can help someone out.

No, its not "necessary", however, if you do it now and just follow all the steps outlined in the previous posts on here that Stedman420 laid out then it would certainly prevent your phone from being bricked should you decide to change to another ROM that is not intended to work with your current kernel and baseband version. Just a personal note, but I would always want my phone to have the latest upgrade on it just to stay in step with the ROMS and I would much rather watch it while its happening instead of it being snuck in on me in the middle of the night and wake up to a bricked phone lol Not a very nice way to start out your day. So I would go ahead and get it updated now and Stedman has made it to where its quite safe as you can tell from my previous post as well.

Yea I'm sure it will. This forum has been a great help. It took me a month to get up the courage to actually root my phone and mess around with installing the roms. Thanks too all the developers for this phone. You all are just awesome!!!

Did you take the contents of the zip out and place them on your sdcard not in any other folder?

If so you should then have the clockworkmod folder on your sdcard and that's what the backup is in

    Hope this helps
