ok downloaded a fresh image from Clockworkmod website. Now it gives me mtd: not writing bad block at 0x00280000
error closing recovery: Mo space left on device

This phone has such a small frikken int space its sad and until i can get a new stripped mod on here to deleted the bloatware its hindering me lol
Ok I have this prob on a score I have just try doin the flash image command two or three times in a row mine works without a prob the second time in a row almost everytime.

This actually relates to you have a bad block on your recovery partition. My guess is you have a bad usb port on your phone as this is what happened to my extra one anyway

Once on terminal and you enter su just enter in the flash_image command two or three times in a row. On my score that has a bad block it usually doesn't error the second time I enter the flash image command then I know it worked

Hopefully this does it for ya

Ok I can't see the first image and did it give the same bad block error all five times? And did you do the flash image command in terminal all five times without exiting or doing anything else?

Also no idea what app that is your showin but su belongs in the xbin so of course it didn't find it Lol ditch that app and get a better root checker app if you want.

However if you open terminal and type su then hit enter if it returns you to a # instead of $ then your rooted and good to go

Yea it did do that . Since we can't seem to flash the recovery is it really necessary? Could we not just use another flashed recovery when/if needed *whats the point in this? just in case of soft brick?.

Where do you guys live maybe i should mail it ya'll lol

And the program is called Android terminal and im using it cause with the free apps this is the only one that i could get the keyboard to work, some wouldnt show it and some would not show when i pressed on it.

EDIT: I just noticed this lol

You also need to make sure you have a recovery image specifically meant for this device. Recovery is device specific so the wrong image will always fail

In order to install a custom rom, make a backup, or restore your phone a custom recovery is absolutely necessary. However since you're rooted you can remove bloat but would be doing so at your own risk with no way to restore. So in a way yeah to avoid a brick. Plus since you have no recovery now at all there is no way to update your phone or successfully factory reset so if something happens you're stuck with it

Try this though. Open terminal and type the following(as usual type only what is in the quotes and not the quotes themselves lol)

    1.) Type "su" hit enter
    2.) Type "dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mtdblock5" hit enter

With /sdcard/recovery.img being the name and filepath to your recovery image.

Also I'd like to note that command is nicknamed disk destroyer Lol so make sure it's entered right and only directed to mtdblock5. If that don't work then I may be close to runnin outta ideas but hopefully that'll do it

Just make sure your path and file name are the same as what's on the sdcard and it should go through or at least tell you if it can't output the image.

Ok open a root file browser and go to the /dev folder then the /block folder and scroll down the list and see if you find a file named mtdblock5.

EDIT: Could you also post the name of your recovery.img and where it's at on your sdcard?

    Just tryin to help

Ok I was just runnin some tests and with this phone it looks like flash_image is your best bet. If you can get that to work you'd be golden otherwise I'm not sure. By the sounds of it your recovery partition has a bad block. In my case on the score I have with the same prob it was caused from a damaged usb port so it's possible you either have a faulty or damaged usb port as well in wich I hate to say would prob be best to replace the phone. I hope your able to get that one back on board though however I would definitely consider replacing it when possible
