Thumbs up HOW TO: HTC Thunderbolt FULL FLASH with 3G

HTC Thunderbolt to Cricket with 3G and MMS

The solution for this does require a MEID Repair to get active on your account. I will NOT post how to do this, however, the solution is available for $50 and is very easy and step-by-step with all files and software required.

The trick to flashing the Thunderbolt is to change it to CDMA/LTE Auto
Then you use CDMA Workshop to change R-UIM to NV Only
Then you can write PRL, EVDO, and change modem settings for a full flash.
I will be typing up a tutorial for this but will not post for public, the flashing solution
will be free but only to members. Email me if you need this solution.

    Soon to come:
Motorola Razr Full Flash W/ 3G (I do have the fix!)
ROM will be posted soon with proxy to work on $45 plan

Not difficult. Just find online ESN converter tool. Plug in the number you have and "voila".

So I will need to edit the ESN? Ive never had to do that. Usually I just flash the PRL, edit the NAM and make sure the DATA profile connects with cricket....
What would I do different with this handset? Thanks in advanced.

You should probably remove the part saying you're charging $50 for an MEID repair solution... that's highly illegal :x

No...don't "edit" ESN. Search for an MEID conversion tool. Then enter your phone's MEID number . The tool will give you the corresponding ESN that you tell cricket to activate your phone.

From what I understand there are some phones that when you convert, Cricket's activation system will tell you that they are an invalid MEID/ESN. That reason alone has been keeping me away from even attempting to flash one. Can anyone that's actually flashed some before confirm?

Yes...flashed many phones and never had a problem with cricKet. You could, however, run into some problems if you tried to activate a GSM phone or if the phone was "HOT". With the Thunderbolt, they give you an MEID number (traditionally GSM phones.) You have to convert it to an ESN (hex or dec) for cricKet to activate. It's really pretty simple. (see my earlier post.) Best of luck to you!!

I understand the conversion process. What I've heard, though, is that some people have been unable to activate these devices on Cricket even after proper conversion to an ESN because Cricket's activation system isn't equipped to handle ESN/MEID's in that range

I had no problem with my TBolt at all. The process did take more time to complete while on the phone with the rep from cricKet...10 - 15 minutes. Best of luck to you, my friend!
