    I flashed a motorola bionic to cricket and I have a problem with mms. I have everything else working, talks, text, stable 3g but no mms.
    Every time I try to send a message I receive this error: "Currently unable to send your message. It will be sent when the service becomes available".

    Would anyone please give me some ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks

    Not a real IMEI... Well it's mine, but just changed numbers around.

    If you had the device when it was new, there would have been a sticker on the back that had the MEID as well.

    This solution works! (delete last number of HEX MEID - use the converter - call cricket with the DEC MEID)
    Thanks!

    I got Mms to working the other day without anyones special mms app, Im on the Droid plan.

    Im still getting it down, the only issue i'm having is that when I use the built in Text app, it won't let you add text with your Pic, so you have to send the messages separate, unless you use an app like handsent or go SMS, then it works no problems,

    you do however need to be rooted to make it work the way I got it to.

    So what did you do to get it to work that requires a root? If your not going to say what you did and spread your knowledge then whats the point of even saying that you got it work. Not to sound rude or harsh but if you do decide to post your solution I'm sure that most of us here including myself would be very much grateful.

    Did change setting build.prop. Then added the apn and change them to match the buid.prop.

    (Example) I have evo 3d but the same razr because I have too.
    gsm.sim.operator.alpha=sprint
    gsm.operator.alpha=cricket
    ro.cdma.operator.alpha=cricket
    ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=31016
    gsm.sim.operator.numeric=310120
    gsm.operator.numeric=31016

    Actually It's a lot simpler than that. Did you really have to do that witht the evo 3d? The apns were easy on the evo, Using apn backup & restore i believe. I also have both phones...

    Any how, I backed up the apns from system/ect and then took a copy and edited just a couple of the VZN apns out of all 56 or so that are in there.

    The thing is you can only edit so much of the apn or the phone won't let you restore it, it will just remove that specific apn and not show up at all.

    I'm going to provide a copy of my edited apns so all you have to do is edit the number at yournumber@mycricket.com and some screen shots and a small list of apps to make it easier for everyone.

    This is how I got MMS to work on my Rooted Droid Maxx Running GB 2.3.6

    This is how I got MMS to work on my Rooted Droid Maxx Running GB 2.3.6,
    The APNs are locked so this was the only way I found around that.
    You get to use the built in messaging app and it works on 1x or 3g.
    I’ve taking bits and pieces from different people online, so this is just the end result of lots of experimenting! So if someone sees this and gets offended, I apologize, I’m only trying to save people the trouble I went through.
    So far it looks like you can’t send a picture with additional words, it only sends the words at that point.

    This is the error I got when I would try and send a picture.
    mms-sending-error.png

    Files and apps needed:
    Root Explorer (I’m using 2.15 for this tut) (can be found on Google)
    Any cut (free in the market)
    Apns that I edited, all you have to do is edit “your#”

    Edit The Apns on your PC
    The easy way to edit the apns, is to right click the “apns-conf” file and click “edit”
    Then click the “Edit “tab in the notepad then click “Find” when the find box pops up
    Type in “your” make sure you click the direction is down and then click “Find Next”
    You will be brought to your#@mycricket.com
    Just replace “your#” with your actual phone number.
    It should look kind of like this “60255555555@mycricket.com”
    Make sure you leave the “quotes” around the user name.
    You only have to edit 6 apns, now place them on your sd card or phone.

    Backup Your APNs:
    Using Root Explorer Navigate to /system/etc
    Press the Mount R/W tab in the top right.
    Then long press the “apns-conf.xml” File for "Options" to pop up.
    menu.png
    Make Sure you click permissions and remember them. (you will need to set the permissions on the new apns)
    permissions.jpg
    Then click cancel and long press the “apns-conf.xml” again
    and press copy, then save them to a safe place you will remember.
    (Just in case)

    Load Edited APNs
    Using Root Explorer navigate to where you put the your new editedapns-conf.xml” file
    Long press and select Copy, now navigate to system/etc
    Press the Mount R/W tab in the top right and then press paste.
    It will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing file, select yes.

    Create Shortcut to APNs:
    Open Any Cut and navigate to New shortcut/Activity/APNs

    Check and Select the APNs:
    Open the APNs shortcut you created with Any Cut
    restore-apns.jpg
    Hit Menu and select “Reset to default”
    Choose either “Verizon CDMA HRPD” or “Verizon Internet”
    apns.jpg
    And make sure the “Username” has your phone # @mycricket.com
    And the “Password” “Server” “MMSC” “MMS port” are filled out.
    That’s how you will know that the APNs were replaced correctly.
    edit-access-point.jpg
    You can restart your phone and check them again and then try to send an MMS.

    Ok, I did all of this last night. I also removed the sim card as instructed in the first post. My ESN change went through this morning (thanks to cricketusers. ).

    The only problem I'm having (other than not having dealt with the MMS issue yet) is everytime I open the browser, and sometimes when opening the market I get the message

    "x can not open x" and something about not having an internet connection. If I click "OK" it seems to go through, and internet is working fine.............

    Any ideas?

    To add I was unable to do the *#*#4636$#*#* settings. I did do the CDMA WS (with 2.7) and QPST to set it up. I also verified and changed the LTE settings.

    I have not done the APN work for the MMS yet. The phone is rooted at this time (was not when I flashed it).

    I just used it on my phone. I have Talk, TXT, and DATA working. I haven't messed with the MMS settings yet. I am running the newest version of the software. *#*#4636#*#* didn't work.

    I am having an issue with Data, as noted in my post above. Also, I'm running without the sim card. I haven't tried putting it back in yet.

    Okay, just an update I got rid of the message by putting the sim card back in. Also, I'm not having the data reset problem on 3G. It's stable and constant. Overall I'm extremely happy with the phone. Now to just wait until Cricket launches the LTE around my area (maybe 3 years if I'm lucky. lol)

    Thank you for the reply gsdreams. I'm glad it all worked out for you! I'm thinking about maybe buying a RAZR again. I've been using a iPhone for about 2 months now, I love it, but I still miss my RAZR!!!!
