That won't cause the problem. Flagging the phone had nothing to do with the phone number.

I've flashed more than one phone while the other is active then the costner would change esns.

So, here is how I did it, pretty much the same as he did it, but this is "NOT" for the faint of heart and if you do this wrong you "COULD" brick your phone.

Disclaimer - I take no liability and neither does hljerdee if you brick your phone doing this. Although if you mess it up a bootstrap recovery should still be possible.

Please do not try this if you aren't fully comfortable flashing phones and rooting phones.

First you will need Anycut (easier to see what's there) and ES Explorer.

Your phone will also need to be rooted.

Go into ES Explorer and give it root access (under menu settings)

Once this is done create a folder on your SD Card for backing up files.

You need to copy /system/build.prop and /system/etc/apn-confs.xml to your backup folder.

YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THE ORIGINALS.

Now, this where we differ a bit.

Take the included file and change all the "your#here" to your phone number (make sure you keep a copy of the original) and replace the 208_xxx_xxxx@mycricket.com and 208xxxxxxx@mycricket.com with your number.

Load this onto your phone via mass storage then put it in /system/etc overwriting the file there.

Reboot your phone, wait for 3g to come up before unlocking.

Now, copy the build.prop to your phone and using es explorer put it in /system/ overwriting what is there.

reboot your phone, wait for 3g to come up before unlocking.

Ok, now take the original apn-confs.xml you downloaded and "ONLY" edit the 208_xxx_xxxx@mycricket.com and 208xxxxxxx@mycricket.com to your number, don't edit anything else.

Now copy this to your phone and use es explorer to put it in /system/etc overwriting the file there.

Reboot your phone, wait for 3g, unlock and test.

    Please post your results.

Are the multiple reboots needed or can all files be replaced at once with only one reboot?

Re: Full Flash to Cricket with ICS

I updated to the JB OTA yesterday from my external sd card. I successfully flashed using the ics method. Make sure to reference the old guide for the workshop config and to apply the white rabbit text. I used version 2.7 of cdma ws. Also to retain root read the proper way to upgrade to the ota jb on droidrzr forums. Hope this helps. Data speeds seem quicker on the update and using the speed net app i got over 1700 kbps download. Everything works except not sure about mms. How did you get mms to work on ics?

I think it was 40900... Not positive but fairly sure (the files are on my mom's pc at her place since I have no internet at the moment for my pc). I am in Pittsburgh. Working very nicely.

Re: Full Flash to Cricket with ICS

Make sure you look at one of the two original gb flash writeups and write the text file that was created from white rabbit within cdma ws after you do the spc unlock. Then once you do that close cdma ws and open qpst to configure. Then also make sure you do the ## program. Let me know if that helped.

Well that is a really worthless post for most of us. First, we want stock messaging working on the "STOCK" app, not an additional app. I have it working on ICS, just haven't tried JB yet.

Getting MMS working with a variety of apps is easy, there is even one listed on these forums for flashed phones. It's getting it working with the stock app that we are all trying to do.

I'll explain even further by saying that a variety of the "nice" MMS apps rely on the stock mms settings to function correctly (they don't use there own settings) which means if stock isn't working neither will those.

Personal opinion is that showing it working with an app, not stock messaging, is kind of pointless as most, if not all, of the people flashing there phones know they can do it that way.

There's a post a little ways up in this post that quotes the method I used and hjerdee used to get stock MMS working on ICS. If you use this and get it working please let us know.
