    Cricket Data Problem

Has anyone noticed slower than usual 3G speeds on your cricket phones? I used to avarage around .75Mbps download speeds in speedtest but lately that number has gone down to about .10Mbps. Any one having similar problems?

I didn't even think that was possible considering. CRICKET is unlimited. I guess I am throttled then?

You can check by logging to your cricket account and then click data usage...should tell you where you're at..... That's the tricky part though it is unlimited, just at a limited speed lol

Use Nitriscript to get unthrottled! Search Nitriscript on Google, ALSO try changing your PRL, that fixed my issue!

In my opinion, I wish Cricket would stop using the word, Unlimited! in the header of they're advertisements. They should say something like , Cricket! with Unlimited 2 Gig data -- then put like a little star next to it meaning read below. And that is where they tell you anything after 1 or 2 Gigs of data, you are slowed down to lets say, 500K or less and Unlimited from that point on.

    It's more like 100 kbps. It's slow!

And, I agree, they shouldn't just say unlimited. Cricket says "Oh, well it is unlimited, because it doesn't stop.", but if you look up the definition of unlimited, it is basically "without limits" and Cricket is limited the service. I think T-Mobile says unlimited web first 2 GB at "4G speeds" or something like that, because they slow you down after.

Eww, Cricket slows down to 100K, I didn't know it was that slow. The only time I go over my limit is watching YouTube videos.

Well, I stream radio a lot, and do watch some videos. I also tether. I'm tethering right now actually.

I was using Easy Tether for about a month, and then rooted my phone and then used one of the free programs for rooted phones. I only use tethering in an emergency when my Satellite goes down. One thing if anyone is deciding on rooting, make sure you download, "DroidWall" from the android market. I can not stress enough how important this is. When you root, it's like allowing every APP installed unlimited access inbound and outbound and total access to all your phone settings.

    You have satellite internet?

I've never heard of that application. I'll look it up.

DroidWall is a good firewall for any phone using android software. It took me a few days to figure it out and get it all configured correctly. I should write a small how too on using DroidWall because most people trying it out are going to end up blocking everything and wont be able to access the web. Linux users using this kind of thing will glide right through it.
