*228 can ruin the flash on flashed phones. check with whoever flashed your device.

im also in Maryland , my EVO 4G that has been flashed and working great for the last 8 months also started this problem about a week or so ago.. it has to be a network issue with cricket, early in the morning the data connection works pretty good but as the day goes on the connection constantly resets and/or is off 100%.. Its such a pain in the ass i might reactivate my ZIO unntil the IPHONE is available in my area.. I work all over the state of MD and in DC , all areas that worked fine 2 weeks ago have gone to crap !!!

    Flashed Phones In Maryland

I have been flashing phones in baltimore for about 1 1/2 yrs and all of the sudden everyone is calling me to complain about this outage. The bad part is that i flashed a phone for myself just to show people that I support it aswell and now its killing me. I havent found a solution to the problem yet but if anyone does please let me know. i have tried Prls and APNs and all the little things i could think of that could effect data. I cant understand why its not effecting any cricket phones though.

i really think this has to do with network updates to the area to allow the IPHONE. Oct is the release date for MD. My wife has an Ascend and side by side her 3G works and my flashed EVO is a lame turd !! Was good while it lasted, if the problem isnt fixed in the next day or so Im gonna have to reactivate my old ZTE or ZIO.

Maryland and Pennsylvania are the major ones affected. I had one customer report from VA, but then I could not get a hold of him for a follow up. I was thinking there is something with their Sprint contract on East coast. Flashed phones roam on Sprint mostly, and possibly with the iphone release something has changed.
Changing the prl to the newest one does not help. There is something in PPP and MIP settings that need to be checked. I would recommend running QPST through the original Cricket device, then putting same profiles and settings on the flashed phone.

Side note, flashed phones are not triband capable, and this could possibly be the reason why data stopped working in MD and PA (back to contracts with other carriers).

Odd thing I noticed: not all the customers in those areas were affected. Seems like about 10% were.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?
