Littleton, CO (south of Denver) I have data.
Went out of the house to do some shopping, had kinda crummy speeds while out(but a HIGH signal! full bars!), but back at home, I'm back to my weird issue of awesome (500ish) uploads, and crummy (200ish) downloads... but it's data /shrug (also, low signal at home... I don't know)

Do you usually get a good signal when you're out, or is that new?

Update 6/20/11 2:00 PM: We're still getting reports of loss of 3G data services across the country tonight.

In the Louisville, KY area its still is having very small issues. I experince it maybe once every few hous for about ten Minutes and then goes back on, when the issue first presented itself I thought the flash on my EVO done screwed up. LOL

Overall, yes, good signal while out, though, before my speed issues a month+ ago, I had good signal in Costco, then so-so signal after it started, and back in Costco yesterday, still so-so signal, but better speeds.
When I went to our pool game last night (different direction than Costco) my speeds were pretty crummy. Noticing this morning that I'm having connectivity issues; have 3G icon, but internet related things seem either EXTREMELY slow or not working at all. Speed test keeps failing to run, internet pages not loading, I did manage to get a weather update after a few tries though. (also note, running a ROM that shows either 3G or 1x, and *#*#info#*#* says I'm on CDMA - EvDo rev. A, so the phone definitely thinks it's talking to the tower with 3G, but we seem to stop there)

long story short, this morning, looks like south of Denver, CO lost network access (or my just phone is acting up, which is possible)

    Interesting.

My phone has been fine. I just got 1.7 Mbps not too long ago. The speeds have been great since the outage.

got a speed test to finish, 11 / 3 kbps (or if I view it as Mbps, 0.01 / 0.00, hah)
I've really been wanting to blame my phone for my speed issues, but after getting actual usable speeds during the last part of the outage, this really makes me grrrr

I don't think I've ever seen a download test THAT slow (unless timing out/failing counts as less) but my uploads used to look like that fairly often.
I'd kill for 1x at this point, or even 28.8, you know, so I could feel as advanced as 20 year old technology

Yeah, I don't remember seeing download speeds that slow either!

If we averaged our download speeds together we'd both be getting about 855 Kbps, which isn't bad. I'd be willing to give up some of my speed for you. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.

well, between a lot of failed/timed out tests, I got 2 more results:
    4 / 1 (189ms)
    8 / 5 (208ms)
funny, pings aren't all that bad...

    That is crazy!

So, your speeds are the worst at home, and you've been getting around 500 kbps in town, so it must be the tower you're connected to, right?

actually my speeds were good at home during the outage, and lets add to the craziness, new speed tests just run:

    209 / 623
    231 / 770
    262 / 492

    (back to the "good" speeds)

    That is weird..

Try doing a test every once in a while and see if it goes back down again.

You don't have any Cricket phones there, do you? You just have a flashed phone, right?
