So I called today to add a new line and when I told them it was a flashed phone and wanted the android plan the said I couldn't get the android plan with a flashed phone. I've flashed many of phones for myself and others. I have never herd of this, is this a new thing or was I talking to an idiot.

I would visit a dealer store. The customer service line doesn't know anything about flashed phones, and they'll feed you lines like this all the time. Don't blame them, though, the issue is really with how they are trained. They don't get any training on how to deal with flashed phones.

Since you don't appear to be in a tri band area, I don't know why they won't add it for you. You can contact "woof" on here. He's offering free add a lines. This should qualify.

Please check the forum and post there before PMing me. I have over 674 unread PMs due to the fact that they are issues which should have been addressed here.

They want you to buy a Cricket phone. They didn't make any money off you flashing the phone but you better believe they do when you a buy a Cricket phone. Think about it. Other wireless companies give you a phone or a kicking discount as long as you sign a contract. Why? Cause they make money on the service and if you skip out on it they charge you big time. First they keep tacking on the service and then $250 early termination fee. That fee is about what they mark off the phone. You want the Android plan and there was no way possible to get it without a Cricket phone. Wouldn't you buy a Cricket phone? We know it can be done but they're gonna do what they can to stop it. And you can't say its not flashed cause they know as soon as the esn is entered whether its a Cricket phone or not.
As far as the phone reps/techs, yes even techs, once they hear flashed phone it automatically becomes an issue outside of their scope of support because its not their product. And if they wanna be dicks about it they can be cause what are you gonna do? Call back and get a different rep and eventually you'll get 1 that may help, leave Cricket? maybe if you wanna pay.

I actually called in cause I was trying to forward my phone to Google Voice and it wouldn't work. Heard that it had to be the same area code for Cricket's call forwarding to work(TRUE BY THE WAY) so I called tech support to ask if true. Answer "Sorry sir but you have a flashed phone and I can not troubleshoot issues with flashed phones?" I explained the question again and tried to explain its not a phone question but a service question. Same answer. Now he was being a dick but same true for just about everything. You go to Intel for help cause your HP has an Intel board they'll tell you go to HP cause its their issue.
Not to mention that rep on the phone is halfway around the world and don't give a crap. If he was told no Android plan with a flashed phone then thats what he's gonna do cause thats what they pay him $.25 a hour to do in Banglapour or mylasia or wherever Bob may be
