Get into DIAG (diagnostic) mode by dialing *#*#8778#*#*. Place USB in modem mode. Exit.

Make sure You Send NV Items Or Else Settings Wont Stick

on ics it is virtually impossible to get mms working, but i think i have a solution to the web problem if you are on an ics rom on anyphone, i have an evo 4g and i am going to get my galaxy nexus soon, my evo is on cm9 ics 4.0.4 and i use greenk45.apk from the forums or market, it enables a proxy that allows me to use my internet... if that was anyhelp id like to know, thanks

How to switch to NV_only mode in order to make all changes be stored in NV items, instead of RUIM?

Put the phone in diag *#*#8778#*#*
MSL you can get using CDMA workshop trial. Use Samsung (Sprint) method.
You do not need to do any switches for NV. Just write them normally. Don't forget to send SPC.

Same thing works for ICS Rom (at least it does for OTA update).

MMS cannot get that to work with ICS yet.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

*#*#8778#*#* select bottom option or Modem and Modem not PDA, then also there is no need for NV Items those truly only apply to Motorola and LG phones to be honest, Leave profile 0 alone and edit your EVDO and profile 1 also make sure your set to Simple IP.

P.S. on the Sprint Nexus there is no RUIM so please ignore any comments regarding that. Sprint as of recently began using LTE and previously used WiMax which was built in and not dependent upon a card.
