Muve Music Android and Release Date?

So, we've heard there is going to be a Muve Music Android coming, but we didn't have many details. Thanks to a PCMag article, we now know a little more.

"In October, Cricket will offer an upgrade to its Muve Music service, which gives Cricket subscribers unlimited music downloads as part of their rate plan. (The Ascend 2 won't be the first Muve Music smartphone—that honor belongs to a Samsung phone coming out this summer.)"

    Source:

What does this mean to you? What is the "upgrade" going to be in October? If there is going to be a Samsung Muve Music smartphone coming out in the summer, then October must not be the release date.

Let us know what you think!

Do you think you will get the new Muve Music Android?

Are you interested in an Android music phone? If so, why? If not, why not?

People may not know this, but the MicroSD in the Suede Muve Music phone is custom. It has about 1gb of user accessible storage and 3gb for music. They can fit so many songs on it vs mp3 files because of the encoding.

I would hope that any Android device, if equipped with this memory, would also have a slot for a normal MicroSD.

Above are a couple pictures of the Samsung Rookie R720 from PCMag.

Wouldn't catch me wasting money on this I've got 16gb sd in my droid and can go to 32gb and have tons of music and video. That thing seems pointless. I think they have a billboard up here for it.

Those pics dont look quite like the Muve Android I got to play with last week. Red yes, but I dont think thats the phone unless they plan to completely redesign the case before launch.

I'll see if I can get a couple pics of it.

It's not pointless for people who want to get music without having to borrow from friends, go to the library, or steal it via torrent. No judgement there, just a fact. Plus the quality is controlled. Unlike a lot of the free downloads on the android.

Thats the thing, songs don't cost anything. You get unlimited downloads included in the 55 dollar a month plan. I downloaded over 700 songs, some full albums in a three day period. No extra charge.

Do you know how much they are going to charge for the plan for the Muve Music Android?

No, I haven't heard any discussion about that yet. I'll put some feelers out and see what I can learn.

Ok so I got to play with the muve android today. It is the phone pictured above and has 2.3.4 on it. It's a very nice and very snappy phone. I didnt get a chance to look at the specs other that the version, so I cant speak to the onboard memory .

What do you think the screen size is? If you don't know, just guess. I won't know the difference.
