    We're here

Well after 6 hours of driving this morning, we're at the convention center in New Orleans. We cut the trip time by spending some time in Houston.

Thanks to all who contributed and made this possible.

Verizon's LTE network seems to be suffering here during CTIA (New Orleans, LA). We were hoping that it would allow us to have the required bandwidth to upload pictures/videos in close to real time. It was tested with a Galaxy Nexus and Droid RAZR MAXX.

It is plagued by timeouts, slow transfer speeds etc. If I were any of the big carriers, I would have handled this like a Nascar race where they bring in mobile towers to enhance their network temporarily.

Speed Tests @ 9:12 AM (signal bar is indicating full strength)

    145ms 3566kbps down 424 kbps up
    148ms 1168kbps down 7705 kbps up
    145ms 2855kbps down 828kbps up

Transfer speeds were not steady and the third test almost timed out before starting.

EDIT: We did switch to CDMA for most of yesterday. Today it looks like we might have to again.

    3G - 284ms 839kbps down 778 kbps up

    Interference?

I guess everyone was complaining about connectivity at the event. Verizon did respond to our message on their Facebook which I do respect!

It was working enough for us to post the V8000 and x501 videos during lunch.
