    Post Full Flash Verizon LG Vortex to Cricket: Talk, Text, MMS, Internet

    HOW TO FULL FLASH VERIZON LG VORTEX TO CRICKET

    Everything will work on the $55 60Z Android Plan but as of this time I have not tried to get it to work on the $45 due to problems getting it to work on other LG Android Devices in the past. If you are aware of a working method please let me know. I will add it to the tutorial giving credit where it's due.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Talk, Text and Web/Data
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    (1) Install the drivers for your device
    (2) Connect to QPST and read phone (SPC is 000000)
    (3) Load PRL under roaming
    (4) Enter your your MDN and MIN
    (5) Enter the following settings:

    UNDER M.IP TAB
    * Change Registration Retries - 1
    * Mobile IP Behaviour - Mob + Simp f/back
    * Initial Registration Retry Interval - 1750ms

    UNDER M.IP TAB > EDIT ALL PROFILES TO MATCH FOLLOWING
    * User > YOURNUMBER@mycricket.com
    * HA and AAA shared secret > Text String > cricket
    * MN-HA-SPI > 12c
    * MN-AAA SPI > 2
    * DMU Public and DMU Mobile > 0
    * Rev Tunnel Preferred > Should be Checked
    * Home Address > 0.0.0.0
    * Primary HA > 68.28.15.12
    * Secondary HA > 68.28.31.12
    * Do the same for both profiles, just in case, but uncheck profile enabled on the 2nd

    UNDER PPP CONFIG TAB
    > Um
    * Input YOURNUMBER@mycricket.com in Tethered NAI and User ID
    * Password > cricket
    >AN
    * Input YOURNUMBER@mycricket.com in User ID
    * Password > cricket

    (6) Write to phone and wait for reboot. You should now have 3G if your phone is
    already on a $55 Android Plan. If you don't you may have missed something.

    NOTE: If you go back into QPST it will revert some settings back to Verizon.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    2. Obtaining Root
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    (1) Download gingerbreak.apk to your abd folder
    (2) adb install gingerbreak.apk
    (3) Run gingerbreak and obtain root

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    3. MMS
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    With this and other LG devices it can be a bit of a hassle to use adb for basic things, so for this tutorial I suggest the following method.

    (1) Download and install your favorite file manager (with root access). File Expert is decent and free.
    (2) Copy telephony.db to your sdcard
    (3) Open the file manager and copy telephony.db to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
    (4) Make sure telephony.db has the proper permissions (rw-rw---- or 660)
    (5) Reboot and test

    Seems you missed a bit. How to get the phone to be reconized as a modem or diag mode? Where to get the drivers from? Its pretty amusing when people know how to flash a device and post a thread of how to and then leave out the most important details.

    leaving out any information that would not let the flash be successful is important so one bit of info isnt any more important than the next list it all or nothing $%#@face

    It's people like these two who really make posting free how tos worth-while.. They're the reason I won't be helping anyone else with flashing phones to Cricket except for those who deserve help (through PM only).

    Why would you be rude and curse people. They're just asking questions for a successful flash. Are you going to add the corrects files and info that we need?

    ^LG Drivers aren't hard to find, and if I'm not mistaken when you plug an LG device in the diag port comes up if you have those drivers installed.

    They were pretty rude to begin with. A person offers help and people respond back with that wasn't enough. Get back on topic or stay out of the thread.

    One Google search for LG Handset Drivers and one click (pretty sure this was the first search result):

    LG Mobile Support: Find the Latest Drivers & Product Guides | LG USA

    I'm pretty sure they're there. I don't have an LG handset on me. Funny how when I first learned to flash I didn't EXPECT people to HOLD MY HAND. Learn something by trying. This can help build your logic skill set. When you figure something out on your own, you're most likely to remember it.

    Please check the forum and post there before PMing me. I have over 674 unread PMs due to the fact that they are issues which should have been addressed here.

    If you need to buy something from (Ebay), please use this LINK every time and support the forum!

    Not sure where to post this. My apologies.

    I'm new to this, but I was reading a tutorial about how to fix my mms on my lg vortex that I use for cricket. So the tutorial gave the mms.apk, and I followed the steps and used overwrite in the systems/app folder. (big mistake, I know) I didn't back up the original file and at first it didn't show up at all. Set the permissions like I read, and I rebooted and got nothing but a blank spot where the messaging use to be. So I copied the files from my LG LW690 originally for cricket. I got the icon to come back to my vortex, but when I open it I get "Sorry! The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I've done the hard reset in hopes it would fix the problem, but no luck. I'm just wondering and hoping you or anyone could please help me solve this problem. Please and thank you
