Full Flash Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE to Cricket: Talk, Text, MMS, Internet

If this phone doesn't make you fall in love with Cricket all over again or for the first time... I don't know what will.

    CREDIT:

A BIG thanks goes out to MexiKing713 for pointing me in the right direction. Without these tips, I would probably be VERY VERY frustrated.

    Required Files

Connecting the Device to your PC

    • Plug in the device.
    • Go to the dialer (like you're going to make a phone call) and dial ##3424#. The phone should go into "DM Command Service".
    • HTC Diag will probably appear in your device manager (right click My Computer > properties > device manager).
    • If it has an exclamation mark (yellow), right click and go to properties or update driver. Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Show all devices > Have disk > Browse to the location of your files > Choose the appropriate 32 or 64 bit driver > Click next > Choose to continue if it throws up a warning.
    • Now in device manager you should see HTC Modem or something similar. The entry might be under modem, or you'll see some HTC Diagnostic Port under ports. Go into the properties if the port number is not displayed. It's helpful to know this port number.

    Change / Send the SPC

    • Open RevSkills.
    • Menu > Hardware forensics > Port Utils > QC + AT - Cmd > Choose the correct port (under setup tab) > Go to Code Tab > Hit HTC : Unlock SPC > In the upper left corner, make sure it is set to 000000 > Hit Change SPC.

Now your SPC should be 000000. Remember that upon every reboot you have to send the SPC prior to reading from the device. In the movie I couldn't find it in CDMA Tool, but it's right here.

    Use of CDMA Tool

    • Open DFS CDMA Tool.
    • Click Ports. I display the log window so I know what is going on. NOTE: You will probably want to close any other program used to connect to your device. This port has to be free before DFS can use it (and vice versa).
    • The HTC port should be visible. Click it and then the device should appear in the screen below. Click that as well. If it doesn't remove this box, go ahead and close it. The device should be connected to your computer and CDMA Tool now.
    • Choose the programming tab. Then select the nam tab in the second row of tabs. Hit read.
    • IMSI MIN A & MIN D: This is where your MIN goes. Area code in the first box and the last 7 in the second box. Both of these entries are exactly the same.
    • Settings MDN & PCS: This is where your phone number goes. All 10 digits go into these two boxes. Both of these entries are exactly the same.
    • If you know your SID, you can enter it under network identification > home > SID.
    • The other settings should be fine. View the video if you have problems. Hit write.
    • PRL: I like saving the existing Sprint PRL for restoring later. Hit read and then save to do so.
NOTE: This program probably cannot send hybrid PRLs.
Load a Cricket PRL from your computer and then hit write.
    • At this point you may have to reset your device. It might have loss connection to your computer. If so, you might have to close CDMA Tool and then reopen it. Connect to the port and send the SPC again. If you have not lost the connection just move on.
    • Choose the data tab. Hit read. Watch the movie, and you will see we put your10digitphonenumber@mycricket.com in every box that said UIA or NAI. The password is cricket. Do not select the check boxes next to the Pwd field or the checkbox for Authentificatation (yes spelled like that in my version) require password encryption. Everything else should be good. Hit write.
    • Go to the Mobile IP tab. Hit read. Change the DS QcMIP to SimpleIP. Under Current User Profile, change the NAI to your10digitphonenumber@mycricket.com. Under AAA Shared Secret, remove the checkbox and enter cricket. Do the same for HA Shared Secret. Hit write current profile settings AND hit write for the Mobile IP main settings. Your phone might have to be restarted at this point. You can also try to put it into airplane mode and then taking it back out.

You are done with the use of your computer at this point. If you have a phone that has never been activated and are having problems, please let me know. Our Evo 3D was brand new and we had to do some extra steps to stop the activation process. This can also happen if the phone is RUU back to stock.

    MMS

    Dialer > ##DATA# (3282) > EPST > Edit > Enter SPC (probably 000000 after you reset it) > advanced

    MMSC Setting

The device we were flashing was on the $55 Android plan. The settings below worked.

    Multimedia Streaming:

    Dialer > ##DATA# (3282) > EPST > Edit > Enter SPC (probably 000000 after you reset it) > advanced

    RTSP/HTTP Settings

In the video I said 254.254.254.254 BUT use:

    RTSP Proxy IP: 0.0.0.0
    RTSP Proxy Port: 0
    HTTP Proxy IP: 0.0.0.0
    HTTP Proxy Port: 0

    Voicemail:

Use Google Voice for Visual Mail.

To change the shortcut for native Voice Mail go to settings > call > voicemail number.

NOTE: Currently our phone number forwards to Google Voice. Please let us know if you are having problems with native voicemail notifications.

So...my question to you about this is, do you actually have to change the ESN like the rumors say or did the situation get figured out?

No thank you. You seriously saved me a lot of time. I would have started with QPST and probably messed around with it way too long.

I was hoping the forum would get to the point where people would come along and make it much easier on me.

Where is the ESN located on the phone? All I have is the MEID number and stuff on my EVO.3D, so how do you find out what your ESN number is?

It's located in settings > about > phone identity > MEID.

Convert this to a normal MEID (256***************).

What I find confusing is the fact that people have said they cant use an ESN number beginning with 256 for cricket when that shouldnt matter in the first place, should it? Cuz the ESN is only another type of identification number for the phone, isnt it? So why would cricket system only accept certain numbers if its a cdma phone. arent all cdma phones flashable to cricket? So all ESNs should be able to be used with crickets network system.

I think this might be an issue with people trying to put the phone on a PAYGo account or in a non Cricket home market vs the actual ESN.

eir01's ESN appears to be valid and able to go on an account. MexiKing713 had no problems, and I didn't have problems. Let's try to not make this a big deal until one of the forum's dealers verifies it.

When do you think we'll get a verification?
