ok you dont mess with that if its a stock rom i used apn backup & restore this is how you get it to work download apn backup & restore

    Open Titanium Backup
    - Go to backup/restore tab
    - Find APN Backup & Restore on the list
    - Long press on the app when you find it
    - Select Convert to system app
    - Open APN Backup & Restore
    - Click menu and disable ICS check

use the APN included in the ZIP file, make sure to open it and change the 0000000@cricket.com to your 10 digit phone number.

using the apn backup & restore app use the apn provided with your ten digit phone # remember to delete apn (in the apn backup & restore app) then restore with the apn you changed with your ten digit phone number.

I am having the same problem with the messenger app not showing up. I copy the file to the system app folder and rename the 2 files and my messaging disapears.

On 4+ you can add or delete an APN by using voice dialer and saying "open APN" . works on my CM 4.2.

I am using it on a 4.12 touchwiz rom. It works but in order to get your apns to work you have to use a system app mover. Apn backup and restore must be changed to a system app. I use an app called system app mover. Reboot after switched then open apn backup and restore and in settings you have to select ignore android version check. After that you can restore apns. Also make sure you change the name of mms1.apk to mms.apk. also on a side note if you just rename secmms.apk to mms.apk this will also work but only text messages, no pictures.
