I wouldn't be surprised if Kingo works as well for rooting without tripping Knox. Someone would have to verify though.

    I don't think I activated knox yet...
But help Me on this ....
ok, I rooted My SCH-R530C with us cellular file... now when I get out of CW Recovery, it says the following...

ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?
    THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE
    NO
    YES - Disable Recovery Flash

    so I back out and.........

Root access possibly lost. Fix ?
    THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE
    NO
    YES - Fix root (/system/xbin/su)

i click back and it reboots and all is still fine , I'm rooted and have SuperSu still functioning...

Should I just leave it alone and keep backing out or should I click Yes - Fix ?
    What Ya think ??

My S3 is on 4.1.2 and rooted with CWM 6.0.3.0. when i back out of recovery it says

    NO
    YES - Disable Recovery Flash

I choose "no" because shabby, SP or someone else said to choose "no". My phone doesnt get the second part that you are getting. Mine just reboots after the first part.

I'd leave it alone if it was me. Here's what wisoldman posted about:

One user here at CU mentioned stock rom will overwrite CWM with stock recovery. Upon doing my homework, he is correct tha in some cases when you take the OTA from your phone, it will do just this. He posted about this in this thread, and I'm adding this to my guide. Just a quick note about this...

ONLY DO THIS IF YOUR CWM KEEPS BEING OVERWRITTEN BY STOCK RECOVERY.

    Thanks Pestelence!
    Nice work!

couple of notes (WARNING, Disclaimer: ONLY perform these steps if you have problems with Stephens steps they are MUCH safer)

    1. On my flash of CWM Recovery from Odin, my GSIII kept booting into regular "Stock Recovery"
    2. After Reboot my CWM Recovery would not stay, it would reset to "Stock"

    Fix for 1:

a)Follow all previous steps for flashing CWM Recovery, do not click start
    b) before selecting start Un-check "Auto Reboot", Select "Start"

    c) IMPORTANT: Before Proceeding you must receive the "PASS" and "Res OK" messages (Screen Shot)

    d) Dis-connect the USB cable and do a "Battery Pull"
    e) Put the battery back in, and boot into CWM Recovery (Press power until you feel it vibrate, while holding Up volume and home, continue holding up and home)
    f) You should now be in CWM Recovery!

Fix for 2: (this one is easy and kinda a dumb one on my part) After flashing the Root zip, and going to reboot, CWM recovery might tell you that your stock rom may overwrite CWM recovery - do you want to fix? - well... yea! - select yes, easy!

OK, I let the OTA update me to 4.3 , I rooted and recovery is newest CW , what happens now if I want to run CM11 ? Will I be able to ? I don't care much about the KNOX thingy.. It's Just that last week I got this new S3 thru warranty and now miss the cyanogen mods ... KitKat would be kinda nice too! So can I go from Factory 4.3 to Cyanogen 11 AND be able to root and have CWRecovery?

I don't think it would be a problem if you're rooted with a custom recovery. Should be able to flash any Rom I believe.

Flashing any rom may not be possible... Has anyone here tried to flash a new rom after the 4.3 OTA update?

What stops it from flashing a custom rom after the 4.3 update? I took the update(not thru kies or ota) thru odin but that shouldn't make a difference. But I'll try to flash cm 11 to see what's up.

No I haven't attempted it yet... Just some paranoid posts on other forums saying bricked issues and such... I want cm11 so bad, does it run as awesome as all other cm's? No Data issue fixed?

I didn't run it long enough to see if it has issues. I flashed cm11 just to see if it would flash and then restored my backup with no hiccups. You should be alright if you back up your current rom first.

I think i'm gonna wait till i can get confirmation on both data and sms at least working.. I miss CM though, way better than stock, hands down.... no comparison, modded roms should be an option when purchasing a phone lol.
I love this forum and all who help and support it ! Only thing I can do is say Thank You and maybe contribute some funds... I have no expertise to give. Once again, much appreciation to the group!!!

You can try it out yourself and if mms or data doesn't work or you just don't like it revert to your backup.
