Cricket bought by at&t.. same phones?

We roam on sprint now(cdma) at&t will allow cricket users access to their 4g lte network(gsm) will we be able to use our current phones? The s3 has gsm can at&t activate it when they officially take over? I really dont want to buy another phone and im sure the monthly price will be hiked, thats almost a guarantee

They have not been officially bought out the fcc has to approve it and I don't see them doing so. They shot down the AT&T buy out of T-Mobile, so I see them doing the same thing here.

I was shocked to see on crickets fACEBOOK PAGE THIS MORNING THEM COMFERMING THAT AT&T BOUGHT THEM OUT. BUT FROM WHAT I READ AT&T IS LEAVING CRICKET AS ITS OWNCOMPANY AND THAT WE WILL JUST GET TO USE THEIR TOWERS FOR 4G IN THE FUTURE. IF THAT HAPPENS I WILL BE SO HAPPY.

In my honest opinion they would NEVER shut down the cdma network. That would completely cut off the entire Cricket customer base that bought phones from Cricket. If they were to do that they would be losing every Cricket customer they already have which you know they won't do or they would lose a ton of money in the transaction. If they do eventually decide to shut down the cdma in favor of gsm they would have to offer current customers cheap "upgrades" to similar valued gsm phones, or straight across trades for a gsm version of the same phone. We have to look at it in the perspective that AT&T would not make such an expensive purchase unless they knew they would greatly profit from it. Telling 80 percent of their customer basis that their phones are now useless would be the exact opposite of what I think they want to achieve through all of this. As is true with any company, it's easier and cheaper to keep current customers happy than to get new ones.

The galaxy s3 is gsm also just not activated for domestic gsm.. think they would unlock it for domestic use for at&t? That would be sweet as long as price stayed same and they leave muve music free(which wont happen

AT&T is usually one of the first to give out the updates in the US, Verizon is the one that hates giving them out..
