    Help with voicemail notification icon

I installed Cricket Visual Voice mail decided I didn't like.
After un-installing I no longer get the voice mail notification icon.
Instead I get a text message saying to call the number that left a voice mail.
I tried re-installing and un-installing again with same result.
I have now done a factory reset and it's still the same.
No voice mail icon, but a text message instead.
    WTF.
Would it be something with the sim card on the Galaxy S3?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

You need to call *611. Tell them what is going on and they will "refresh" your voicemail settings. It will delete all v-mails when they do this. I had the same issue after trying visual voicemail except my icon wouldn't leave! Hope this help :-)

I have the same problem, I've had cricket reset my voice mail twice. The first time it worked correctly for about the first two or three messages, then reverted back to the text message. The second time Cricket reset my voicemail there is no change. This is very aggravating since I paid full price for my GS3, and I pay for four lines and Cricket can not seem to fix a simple voicemail notification problem. Sorry, just very frustrated.

I have been using the Visual Voicemail app too, kinda like it, but I also do not like the text message notifications. Wish there was a way to customize this aspect. But my issue now is, there is a severe (hours) delay between missing a call and receiving the notification that I have VM. Any ideas on this? How to correct it? I've called *611 and they did some sort of reset, but it still happens.

As for the text message-style notifications I get, I use Handcent for texting and can "blacklist" the 600-XXX-XXXX number that sends the text notification. Hope that helps for those who still want to use VVM and not get texts.
