    Cricket announces the Samsung Transfix







    Cricket Communications this morning announced a new phone to its lineup -- the Samsung Transfix.

    The QWERTY slider sports a 3.2-inch display and runs Android 2.3 with an 800 MHz processor. It's got a 3.2MP rear camera and is available now for $179. Full press release is after the break.

    It looks like a nice one too.

    I actually like most of Cricket's Android handsets now. I'm not sure about the ZTE Score though. But, with the Huawei Ascend 2, Samsung Vitality, and Samsung Transfix, I definitely think they're moving in the right direction.

    I see so many people using Android phones with the other networks and I always wonder why they haven't considered Cricket.

    Newer OS but not as much processing power if we go by raw clock speed. I'm not sure what kind of processor this is. Probably a rebranded device that is already out on the market with another carrier (hardware wise).

    Is this already available in stores?

    It does look nice. I'm glad Cricket is picking up this one. Should do well.

    I know it's available in some stores, I don't know if all have them yet.

    I've seen some phones rebranded for U.S Cellular. This might be one of them, I'm not sure.
