Huawei Mercury ICS Never but good news, hear it first on cricketuser.com

Just left meeting with Huawei, bad news is there will be no upgrade to ICS for the Mercury. Good news is there is a new model coming in late June called the Huawei Ice. Its has ICS, muve built in, faster processors, can handle up to a 64 gb memory card. Best of all is the looks, it is white and chrome.

They gotta compete with the ZTE V8000. I'm really surprised because the rep @ CTIA made it seem like there was hope for ICS with the Mercury.

I agree more people have ask for it here than anywhere. Ask my customer what Ice cream sandwich is and they will point you to Basket Robins

I guess if I'm going to have to get a new phone to get ICS, I'll just switch carriers and get a contract phone.

^ This isn't the only phone that hasn't been updated to ICS. Droid RAZR OTA still hasn't pushed along with Droid 4 and a number of others. Yes, they have been testing at least, but a little example of how the most premium of devices don't always receive quick updates. You know the Galaxy Nexus? They released it and other phones got newer versions of ICS after it. There is no good way to purchase a phone and know when/if it will get an update. We are at the mercy of the manufacturers.

So I hope you don't fall victim of changing carriers every time your phone doesn't get an update for an OS. This could become rather expensive for you.

I've decided I'm going to get the Galaxy Nexus with Sprint, that way I do get the updates.
