I'm confused about how much this is costing me!

    Hey guys,

I moved to the US a few days ago and bought an iPhone 5 on the $50 tariff thats coming through on an auto payment monthly from a debit card. However yesterday i accidentally texted a phone number of someone back home in the UK (a +44 number) and it sent and was actually received! As far as i was aware there was no ability to contact international numbers on a $50 tariff! Is this wrong and can i text the UK on my $50 tariff, or will my debit card that is used for the auto monthly payment have been billed extra for that text?

    Many Thanks
    Tim.

    Hi Tim!
You are either on the $60 plan, or have some funds in your flex bucket. From what I remember, $50 plan does not have unlimited international texts. Might want to check your mycricket.com account.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

I just checked online and i am on the $60 plan and my flex bucket appears empty!
However i do have an additional question, if i run out of full speed data, and i am happy to use the reduced speed till my next month starts, is this okay or will i run up extra charges? Because as long as it runs iMessage on my iphone im okay with it being reduced!

No extra charge for that, unless you want to prepay for extra speed..

Just wanted to say welcome since you're from across the pond. I didn't get to go to the UK this year.... Very sad about that.
Please check the forum and post there before PMing me. I have over 674 unread PMs due to the fact that they are issues which should have been addressed here.

Thanks very much! I hope you can get over there soon, its such a lovely place! I'm proud to say its my home place!

Im reluctant to start a new thread and appear to be blitzing the forum so i wondered if you could help me with a small issue im having...i bought a cricket iphone 5 a few days ago and since then i have been receiving text messages from a number with the area code (326) 650 and ending in different numbers. They appear to all be from Facebook, be it legit or not, containing links about facebook friend requests from people i dont even know, however i havent subscribed to the text service and it is definitely not anything to do with my facebook account. This has been happening at least once every 2 hours and is really annoying at night :') is this something that happens on the network or do you know what it may be?

    Thanks in advance
    Tim

Download a call/text blocker app to block that range of numbers.

    If it is Facebook...

How do I stop/deactivate mobile texts from Facebook?

From your phone, you can simply text "Off" (without quotation marks) to your number. You will receive a text message back confirming that Facebook texts are now off.

From your computer, you can go to the Mobile tab of your Account Settings page and change your settings to "Off." Note that you can still send text messages to the same number to update your status or take actions Facebook.

You can also choose to completely remove a number from your account on this page by clicking "remove" next to the phone number that you wish to remove.

I actually have British Jump Wings (as in earned them). Last year I had a nice landing in the UK countryside.

I'm going to ban you if you continue to post replies like this. The OP was already taken care of.

    EDIT: user removed
