    It's actually in my area, but I don't think my HTC One Max is compatible. We'll have to wait for AT&T's rollout.

    New Technology? NOT AT ALL

    This is verizon's way of saying "Yes, we know had bandwidth issues and now we are fixing it by adding more bandwidth".

    Basically Verizon is never going to admit they had a fault. So, in order to avoid that and in order to hype the fact they are bringing more bandwidth to various cities all over they had to come up with a new name.

    They've also basically admitted such by saying some older LTE phones will work on X-LTE. They have not said any older LTE phones will "NOT" work, they just didn't name them all.
