    Rooting Huawei m866 android

I apologize if this is in the wrong section, I didn't know which one to put it in. Anyways I am in the process of rooting my android 2.3.6 huawei mercury m866 and I am stuck at getting the CWM recovery to replace the stock recovery, but when I put my phone in download mode no prompt shows up to open the file that holds what I need to change. I already double checked that all my drivers for the usb are on my PC and they are, so if you could tell me how to fix the issue that would be great, thanks.
