    Upgrading phone :)

Hi, I'm upgrading my phone soon, because I want the $50 plan instead of the $55 plan I have right now. I have the first ascend and they say I cant change to the 50 plan with that phone.

Which phone should I get, the Authority, Engage, or the Mercury? Need some opinions lol. Is the mercury still sold in cricket stores, because it's not on the site?

    Thanks!

I don't upgrade often so I kinda want the fastest phone that cricket has. I like the size of the Authority, but the camera isn't good like the Engage or Mercury.

I don't know who is telling you that you can't change plans on an old Android phone but you most certainly can. The $50 plan is available it just won't have Muve Music.

I'm with Daniel here. You can downgrade to the $50.00 plan if you want to. I do that often for the type phone you have!!

i work at Cricket. be careful who you talk to when purchasing in store.

you can downgrade your plan but if you have the extra cash upgrade it along with a new phone.
stop by Best Buy and pick up a Mercury for $200.00 then set that to your plan, along with the $60.00 plan to keep data the same, get Muve Music and be allowed to tether with a $15.00 ESN change.
tell that guy off that just did not want to help.
also, the Authority looks really good and is much cheaper but it will be hard to find cases and accesories and in my opinion the Mercury is an amazing phone.

get the sgs3 when it launches otherwise the authority is good for the price, the engage is not a bad phone either, the mercury is not available at cricket stores unless they have some left. you can change your ascend to the $50 plan, however customer care will say you cannot since it is not a muve phone.

Thanks for the replies Yeah, they told me that I couldn't switch to the $50 plan because my phone isn't a muve phone. Say if i were to upgrade, which phone is better, the engage or the authority? Am I correct in saying that the only thing better on the authority than the engage is the bigger screen?

And how much will the galaxy be would you guess?

    Thanks so much!

Blackberries and non-Muve enabled Android phones (including flashed phones) go on smart phone plans that mirror the $50/$60/$70 plans we have... just without Muve Music on the plans. The person who told you that you couldn't change plans doesn't know what they're talking about. If they click the rate plan change option in their system they will find that it most certainly lets them change the plan.
