Interesting device, but will it work

Ran across this in my bumbling around the internet.

    .42 - Genuine HUAWEI EM660 CDMA2000 3G Module with Mini PCI Express I/F (800/1900MHz) - Laptop Gadgets

I believe it'll work with cricket, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any experience with these?

I'm really not sure about that one.. It doesn't look like is has AWS, so you'd only be able to use it in older markets, or when roaming. Other than that, it's "technically" capable, as far as I know. I don't know how you'd get it working software or firmware wise though.

Personally, I wouldn't buy something like that, I'd get get an official broadband card. It's much easier and less risky. You wouldn't want to buy something and then find out you can't get it to work.

Yeah I can see where you're coming from with that. Given that's something like 50 bucks and you can get original hardware for about the same I think. I just kind of like the idea of having everything internal.

Oh, I understand. I like things that are official and supported by the carrier. So, I'd rather have the external broadband card. If the laptop came with a Cricket card built in, that would be different, but Cricket doesn't have anything like that right now.

So, do you think you're going to try it out? If you do, let us know how you like it.
