    Android Update?

Debating on getting one of these phones, anyone know if the android platform can be upgraded past 4.0?...A friend of mine has one but he keeps his off grid and changed the ESN and stuff to a different country...lol...yes, he's paranoid but for good reason...but he said he doesn't think he'd upgrade his if it could be...just curious if it can be upgraded to 4.1

As far as I know, the only update for this phone was 2.2 it also didn't receive a whole lot of development support , if I were you I would spend the money for a good phone for instance I had the ascend 1 and I upgraded to the epic 4g touch and haven't looked back even though this phone is two year's old it still has a fine development group at XDA putting on rom's and tweaks for it, you can find better phones than this now in my opinion
