Cricket's Samsung Galaxy SIII Gets Its First Official CyanogenMod (10.1) Nightly

In a post to Google+ today, it was announced that Cricket's Samsung Galaxy SIII (otherwise known as d2cri) had received its first official CM 10.1 nightly, meaning Cricket-connected SIII users can enjoy the Android 4.2-based ROM with all the tweaks and features CyanogenMod fans have come to expect. Those who have followed the Cricket GSIII's progress (<--- link to this thread) toward an official nightly build will also be happy to learn that the device's camera woes have reportedly been solved.

If you're ready to treat your Cricket Galaxy SIII to a taste of CM 10.1, just hit the download link below to be taken to get.cm.

Definition: A "nightly" is a bleeding edge release that is built on a daily basis, usually at night after a full day's worth of new code has been committed.

It could oftentimes be unstable and not properly tested, lacking any changelogs, but eventually evolving into alphas, betas, release candidates, and finally stable releases.

    Hopefully a nandroid backup.

Anyway which recovery are you using? Sometimes this is critical when flashing roms. This is my first guess.

Yes it is a nandroid backup. Everything is back to stock and working. As to which recovery am i using im a little confused, where can i find that? I had a family member that knows all about this stuff but he lives in houston lol so he can't see my phone. I should have a recovery it sounds very familiar.

If you look at the original post you can see that noobl attached a recovery to use. I'm not a sure if it is the only one that will work with this ROM.

It is the one that I used. Place the recovery on the device and flash it just like you would any other ROM.

Take note that it only shows every other click of the volume button. If you get a screen with nothing on it, hit a volume button again.

This might be confusing so I'll make a video later.

---------- Post added at 11:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:33 AM ----------

I see so how am i going to wipe data or cache if its skiping every other click? is there a way i can get around that?

Re: [ROM][OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightly Builds for d2cri

It's superficial. It visually skips the 2nd click but it does register that it's where its skipping. Basically it may show its on one option but registers the one before it. Just count how many times you move the cursor to make proper selections.

Pretty much you gotta follow the steps of the original thread just as Noobl said, I also would recommend you using ROM Manager for flashing the ROM once you end flash recovery it's actually faster and easier

k here are some issues i have some across.

    1. MMS does not work <--- Already known.
    2. I've had the phone lock up on black screen 2 time after hitting the power button <--- fixed by removing battery.
    3. Movies that I have put on the phones sd are choppy and do not play smooth <----using MX player and selecting decoder s/w helped but some movies are still a bit choppy.
    4. Battery Lights and Notifacation Lights and not working when set to cutom colors.
    5. Calls are not loud even at max. People say i sound weird and very low. People I call sound very low on max volume.
    6. Speaker on calls are very low hard to hear.

If I find more issues ill post them here.

Good feedback. I think I have to sell mine soon to pay a turbo kit invoice. Anyone want them to buy the first Cricket device to run CM10 and 10.1 with working camera?

Okay so i found a pretty big issue my phone locks up and freezes when I'am trying to pick ringtones and it is also linked to power button issue. when picking a ringtone i eventually get an error saying "active media not responding" <-- something like that can't remember. Then it locks up and if i hit the power button it gets stuck on a black screen.

---------- Post added at 02:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:01 PM ----------

Okay so if someone has cm10.1 nightly. please check to see if your media is working. so try music, ringtone, note tones, movies, calls ect. idk this is just me or build.
