Re: [WIP]Odin flashable stock rooted Cricket SGS3 firmware

Still 1.5gb but I'm thinking I should leave it exactly that way because what I have is an exact copy of the entire system partition and not just the system files in a flashable format. However I may have snuck my ringtones into it which I forgot about. I need to look in the backup I used to create this and see if they are there because of copyright blah blah blah....

    Edit:
Glad it did die. I had my mp3 ringtones in it... Restarting now.

In the mean time, those of you with a dead phone can flash MetroPCS stock firmware available here (
    Firmware archive | Samsung Updates

    ).

It restores just about everything (Calling, LTE, GPS) except two things.
Messages won't work since it just keeps crashing. And cricket apps will be repaced by MetroPCS apps.

Thanks, tareqyounis & Stephen Proffitt. I just wanted to double check.

Also, You can find a Custom Rom(Not a Leak) JellyBean 4.2.1 For Cricket Samsung Galaxy S3 (SCH-R530C) at the following website.

That's not a leak. That is a custom rom. There is a huge difference. Leaks are unofficial official updates that are a work in progress. CM10.1 is a custom version of android built by a 3rd party other than Samsung or Cricket.

Cool glad it helped. If you had read the guide it clearly stated a boot loop would occur but it worked regardless

Say in 6 months the S3 gets JB OTA. In order to restore after JB updated, would we use this method here then upgrade OTA to JB again?

Most likely we would have official files from Samsung that would be flashable by then
