Question Does S3 Ninphetamine3 Kernal work on all S3's or are there carrier spacific Builds??

I am total NOOB. I've been slowly learning as much as I can. I have rooted my Galaxy S3 and have tried out a couple different ROM's I have gone back to stock ROM because it has some features that aren't found on custom ROM's.

I've been researching custom kernels so that I can overclock my device. I have looked everywhere (w/out finding a specific answer) and it seems to me that custom kernels are developed for the device regardless of the carrier model. i.e. the Ninphetamine3 kernel works on all Galaxy S3's, whether it is from Verizon or CricKet........ Is this correct??????

Thanks in advance for any help that I may receive...

Don't try kernels that weren't designed for your carrier. That's what I'm going to say until someone else says otherwise.

Go into XDA developers. I don't think you'll see anyone swapping out VZW kernels with ones from the Sprint S3.

But that's my point...... everytime I do a search for "cricket galaxy S3 kernels" I only find info on kernels for "galaxy S3" w/no carrier or model # specified. Nowhere have I found a kernel specified for CricKet. Am I missing something or are kernels not specific to the carrier and only to the device regardless of the carrier????

Actually we used att and sprint kernels before we made our own.
All I can say is backup. Make sure it belongs to a US variant. And make sure its for the same OS. ICS kernels will only work on ICS.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE ANOTHER KERNEL FROM ANOTHER PHONE.

You will get random crashes, force closes, boot loops, and non functional hardware like camera, gps, and possibly more.

I attempted some kernel work for OC purposes, but the key word was attempted.
