    Thanks sonasam300!!! I've been using CWM 6.0.4.5 on my S3 from here but might try out Philz. I have backed up with CWM but have never restored so i dont know if would get all the FC problems others have restoring. Does this Philz version cause the restore problems too?

    Hey Sonasam, thanks for checking this out and posting it! I'm checking it out right now. Couple of questions, are you able to successfully restore your stock 4.3 backups with this recovery, without FC's? Did you use the d2lte, d2vzw or d2usc version?

    Yea. I'm on my backup as we speak. No force close errors yet. The d2lte is compatible with our phones. Forgot to put that in op.

    Sonasam, thanks again for your help! Can't wait to try it. I assume the flashable one will work as well as the Odin one. I'll try the flashable one first, and post results.

    Edit: The flashable file worked like a charm!

    If you already have recovery, then will suggest you to use zip flash from recovery, that's the easy way and wont brake anything if fails

    I have flashed 3 different keyboards and restored 2 backups on this without any issues. Phils recovery does the job on 4.3

    I only restored backups that I made with this recovery. So I don't know. But this is a later version of cwm so it might work. Backup your current rom first and then try to restore a backup not made with this recovery. Let us know how it worked out for you.

    The only backup I have is of my stock rooted touchwiz 4.3. I took crickets ota then rooted.cwm flashed the back up just fine but everything for closes. So I can try that. If I get same result then we know it's possible. It would be nice of it flashed then everything worked. I don't have an option to "fix permissions" in any recovery I have flashed. I have tried TWRP, CWM, and now Philz. Does anyone else have that option? "Fix permissions" was always in menu.

    OMFG!!!! I LOVE PHILZ CWM ADVANCED TOUCH RECOVERY !!!!
    So it did recognise cwm back ups(makes sense). Not only was i able to restore my stock touch wiz 4.3 back up but the restore was a complete success. All other recoveries were failing. Cwm restored but when booted up force close windows galore. Philz is my is my new go to recovery. It is a powerful program that can also re root and even inject root into roms flashed. SONASAM ::BEER:: ::CHAMPAGNE::
    ::THANK YOU::

    Your welcome. All the credit and thanks should go to Phil cause of his great work! And to smartsnake cause I would have never known about it if he didn't inquire about it in one of these threads.
