    [WARNING] about MK4 / 4.3+ updates

You can't ever flash a custom rom again if you want to keep your warranty....KNOX Bootloader has a "eFuse" it's a flag within the bootloader that cant be changed with any amount of tricks. The bootloader can't be downgraded. When this flag is tripped. It voids your warranty and you can't just restore it and act like its stock anymore. Warranty is null and void if your Bootloader says 0x01.

THE ONLY way to avoid this is using a custom rom with the Wifi fix. Because these are stripped to be without the KNOX Bootloader.

This is a Bootloader example that still has the warranty intact.

This is a example of a Warranty Voided KNOX Bootloader

the text on my bootloader is freakishly small but near as I can make out it reads
    odin mode
    product name sch r970c
    current binary custom
    system staus official
    csb-confg lsb 0x30
    write protection enable

sorry don't know how to take screenshot of that but there is nothing about knox, what exactly does that mean?

That means you do not have a KNOX bootloader yet, and you should root and apply the ROM. That way you never get a KNOX bootloader.

current binary custom - means you are current rooted or have been rooted before.
system status official - means your on MI3 probably.

yes I am currently rooted and my build number is JDQ39. R970CVVUAMI3 so I guess that means MI3 and I am guessing I can't just flash the wifi fix to fix the broken wifi on my phone. my warranty is already voided as I technically bought the phone used so other than that what problems would I have with a knox bootloader?

edit: oh crap I just read that you said I SHOULD apply the rom. lol I thought it said I SHOULD NOT!

As long as you use the ROM I posted and not the OTA. You should be fine.

well the install failed the first time. the box for signature verification was checked so I unchecked it. did another factory reset and this time it successfully installed but it's been stuck at the samsung screen for 10 min. now. should I do a system wipe? I am using TWRP recovery maybe a different recovery?

You should always do a system wipe when changing android versions. Also Use Philz Recovery. It's the best one for our phones.
    Philz Recovery

Keyboard is broken on my phone. When I change input method from swype to Samsung keyboard and then try to navigate anywhere my phone freezes for 30 seconds or more until a dialogue pops up That says "unfortunately Samsung keyboard has stopped " swype works just fine though. Anyone else have this problem?

Strange for some reason my phone defaulted to swype...and I didn't bother trying the Samsung keyboard.

Damn I wish I would have known this. I applied the update to 4.3 w/o fail. And now I have a KNOX BOOTLOADER. Fuck!

Was there a reason why this was unpinned? this still affects people. Just because there was a way to root without triggering knox, doesn't mean you still can't trigger it other ways if you have a knox bootloader.
