    Switch to Sprint?

I went with my girlfriend to sprint because she has service with them, and I played around with the Photon on 4g speeds. All I could say is wow. Ran a speed test and it came out just a little bit faster than my WiFi at home lol (about 9000 kbps). So I started thinking about switching, but would it really be worth paying more for faster speeds? Then I started hearing rumors about the iPhone 5 with unlimited data, yada yada yada... so What do you guys think? I do save a lot of money with Cricket, and they aren't a bad company, but there is many wrinkles that still have to be ironed out (late messages, slow speeds, sub-par phones, etc.) Let me know what you think.

    EVO 4G

I doubt most folks come to Cricket because of the awesome data speeds and performance. It's usually because of price and value. If price isn't a big deal to you, then sure, jump to Sprint or Verizon for the 4g speeds. Sprint will run you around 80+ tax(cheaper with discounts)for that shiny new 4g photon and Verizon 80-90+ tax depending on the data package.

Cricket is about providing the best value, but they may have 4G soon, they are already testing it.

Me personally, I don't really need my phone to have blazing fast speeds, I just need it to connect to the internet at a reasonable speed, and be able to make phone calls, and possibly help me kill some time when I'm stuck in a lineup.

If you can deal with the current speeds, I'd stay with Cricket. Like 154-4-bdu114h mentioned, 4G should be coming soon. They also signed an agreement with Lightsquared, which means 4G nationwide.

Cricket is moving in the right direction, and I think they're moving at a good speed too. It started with the Huawei Ascend, and look now, the Samsung Vitality is out with an 800 Mhz processor, the Indulge with a 1 Ghz processor, and now there are rumors of the Huawei Glory with a 1.4 Ghz processor. So, the phones are catching up.

I haven't really had the problem with late messages.

So, if I were you, I'd stay with Cricket if I could deal with the data speeds. With 4G, that shouldn't really be a problem.

Also, keep in mind, with Cricket you don't have a contract. With Sprint, you do.

Yup all of you guys' arguments are the reason why I am with Cricket today. Its cheap and reliable enough for me to do what I need. And its not like I just got cricket, I've been with them for over 4 years. I don't know yet. I guess I should stick around to see what's next for us. And the problem with the phones is not that I don't like how they perform, I just don't like how they look! Lol and I know that's really shallow of me, but I want to have a nice phone. I'm rocking my sexy Droid x right now and loving it.

The more customers like you the better Cricket does. So hang in there, things will be getting much better!!

We need more customers who stick around, every company does.

About the looks of the phones, this has improved greatly the last year, so it should only get better.

That's what I keep thinking. Whenever I think about leaving, I tell myself to wait, stay the loyal customer that I am, and hopefully I will be rewarded in the future (with 4G for example).

Just look, we now have nationwide roaming on Sprint. It also includes 3G data! Who would have imagined that two years ago (before Cricket even had an Android)?

    I can't wait to see what's next.

Yeah I'm going to stick with Cricket for a while. I mean paying $55 per month sure does beat $80. You guys have convinced me to stay lol the only thing I wish now, is that I could flash my DX myself without having to pay so that way I could SBF to install cool ROMs, but I cant

Never say "I can't do it" because you probably can..

Honestly flashing Androids is usually a piece of cake.

When u get some time, try this for the SPC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11824824&postcount=10

It's was in a Droid 2 thread but should work for all Moto phones.
