    Is a task manager needed?

I was just wondering because I've herd so many different things from so many different people about needing advanced task manager or other related task managers, do we really need it or would it improve performance or battery life? Or dose it just take up memory, space and or drain battery life??

Well I'd say advanced task killer is okay for phones that don't have very much ram. I used to use it on the ascend but only to kill large apps after I was done with them, but I'd also kill the task killer too. Auto task killers are stupid though because they're always running and kill apps that you're using and they just start back up anyway. If you're rooted I recommend using the app autostarts, it will let you choose when apps are allowed to start. It costs like a dollar so no big deal.

    I'd probably second this.

Had a friend who was socked with a $200 phone bill for exceeding her usage. She says the AT&T tech identified a rogue app or malware sucking bandwidth. I suppose a malware killer or task killer might have helped her since she doesnt understand phone maintenance very well.
