    Texas Wildfires

So far in Texas there are over 60 fires. A few just so happen to be a couple of miles outside of Austin. We were driving so it's not all that great of a photo. Taken with my Flashed to Cricket HTC EVO 3D.

Is there an update on these? If you were to look at the sky right now is there smoke or do you need to drive to see it?

The major fire in Bastrop from what I've heard still isn't completely contained. There was smoke the other day but right now I don't see any. Yesterday on the news they said 1000 homes where destroyed. It sucks. I don't know if any of yall are religious but just keep texas in your prayers.

I wonder if regular homeowner insurance covers that. In my opinion, homeowners insurance should cover the home, I don't see why there is also flood insurance (it's flooding the HOME..) and why there are "Acts of God". I don't think that's right.

It is sad that 1,000 homes were destroyed, but if people evacuated that means hopefully less got hurt. Those fighting the fires are always in danger though. It's amazing what they do to keep people safe.

That is SCARY. I mean, what if you're trying to get away and something goes wrong with the car? I don't know if you'd make it out..

I'm sure the authorities are doing everything they can. I've been impressed with emergency management in my area so I'm hoping they're just as good there.

From what I've heard several firemen from several cities have volunteered and helped out with these fires. But then again I've been hearing that we our govt could be doing more. You know how politics go.

I saw this thread and thought I would add a few of my pics from the Riley Road/Tri County fire near Magnolia. Lost all my stuff in this one.

That's good, but I'm sure it was still very upsetting!

Thanks Ave, I have to say I am blessed. I lost some hay my semi and pickup. But in other fires in TX fire fighters lost their lives. So while I sat and ate Chili's for supper, 3 families sat with an empty chair at the table because they lost heroes. I thank you for your kind words but I have to mention them and remember, Hay grows back,
